Well, my wife and I filed the wrong affidavit of support (I-864EZ) because we wanted to use in joint taxes to meet the requirement. We were asked to refile I-864 instead along with a joint sponsor because my previous income in not considered. This was a little frustrating seeing I am the primary supporter for my family. However, my father-in-law offered to be a joint sponsor seeing he was already assisting us in the hard time. They received my response on June 2 and on June 3rd I received the update that my case resumed June 3rd.

The RFE letter stated that my application for EAD was on hold until they received the new initial evidence and then 90day clock restarts at that point. How true is this, a really cannot afford to wait 90 more days to return to work. My Dept has risen severely and I am receiving letters from bankruptcy attorneys encouraging me to file bankruptcy.

BAHAHAHAHAH!! That is the first time that something about this whole process actually made me laugh.

Thanks :)

Oh and thanks for the handy dandy table too!

No problem! And we have to laugh during this process, or we'll go wacky. Wackier. Whichever.

If you want some laughs, I can direct you to some decent OT threads that are funny. But be very careful in OT - there be monsters there!

Oh no, tuts, I am so sorry to hear that. I'm not sure what the 90-day clock is, but did you try expediting the EAD? (If you mentioned this earlier in the thread, I am sorry, my memory really sucks).

Hello,

I notice many people are doing their biometrics fingerprints as a walk-in. Do we not need to stick to the appointment date on the letter and if so how is this done?? Things seem to move pretty quickly in the beginning, which makes me wonder if there is a lull coming.....How long are folks seeing the entire process taking??

Most of us have had success doing walk-ins, although some have been refused. It is always worth a try, the worst they can do is say no!

Hi all,

We filed for my husband to adjust, and I just checked - there's a RFE for the 485. :(

This is the timeline:

Sent AOS - 5/12

Received - 5/13

NOA sent - 5/18

Touched (765, 485, 130) - 5/21

Received NOA - 5/22

RFE (485) - 6/4

Touched (all) - 6/4

Could they have sent the bio appt letter before sending the RFE?

Totally stressing about what they want that we haven't already sent....hope we get the RFE soon so that we can see (and send it back - quickly!).

We need this to proceed quickly so my husband can work! But it's nice to have other people who are going through the same process....

Married - 3/12/10

AOS Filed - 5/13/10

Biometrics received - 6/5/10

Biometrics done - 6/9/10

RFE Received 6/10/10

Touched - 6/7/10, 6/16/10, 6/17,10 (all)

RFE delivered - 6/29/10

Resumed processing - 6/30/10

EAD Production Ordered - 7/2/10, 7/8/10, mailed 7/15/10

Touched - 7/6/10, 7/8/10 (485, 765)

Touched EAD - 7/16/10

EAD Received!! - 7/17/10

Interview - August 30, 8:45- Approved!

After obsessing over every form and documentation having to do with the i-485 application I think I finally figured out what this RFE might be

And boy do I hope I'm right so I'm ready when the actual RFE comes in the mail

Apparently I had missed that my husband had reported taxable interest in his 2009 returns. Stupid stupid stupid me.

I checked all our forms and all of MY documents probably ten times but had no idea he had some interest on top of his regular W-2

So of course I didn't send his 1099 (just 1040 and w-2) - heck, I didn't even know he had a 1099.

Man oh man.. I hope that is all that's missing

Good luck to the rest of you still wondering what your RFEs might be.. Hope we all find out soon!

Man oh man.. I hope that is all that's missing

Good luck to the rest of you still wondering what your RFEs might be.. Hope we all find out soon!

I understand totally how you feel, I have come up with many things (ideas) what could be wrong but I have decided to wait and see what the actual RFE is for. Until then I will keep on stalking the mailman :jest::rolleyes:

Yes. I didn't know about this until I found this forum, but I was lucky and they let me do it in the south Dallas office. It seems as most of the offices are doing it but I guess it also depends on the officer's mood. You should try it though, worst thing they can do is say no and you have to come back on your appointment date.

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed.

Wow , back on track , hopefully interview letter soon to come ....Im glad we had everything ready when the RFE got here , it doesnt seem like we may lose anytime cause of our bio being done yesterday and the case officially resuming today ... Keeping our fingers crossed and good wishes going to everyone

Yay! Congrats!
