Thanks for all the information on flites! I have used random July dates on different booking sites and with the airlines and I can;t find anything to Jordan from here under $1800 with taxes and fees. I will try some of the tips I've seen here and see if they help!

Do a price quote at www.asaptickets.com it is much cheaper!

Yes, if your significant other plans on coming over right after the interview, the sooner you buy the ticket, the better! Prices will go up (even more) as time goes by! Are there traveling agencies that specialize in travel from that region? Sometimes they can get competitive deals.

Congratulations on getting an interview day already!

Yep, we will book the plane ticket after I get the CR1 visa. I think those agencies do have some cheaper tickets, we will check it later

Thanks!! Guangzhou schedules Interview Dates faster than others

Guangzhou IV Unit is a strange place - I'd hold off getting a ticket until AFTER she has passport with visa stamp in it.

China Southern does have some deals through ctrip.com for new immigrants, though - you might want to look into that (it's visible on the chinese portal, not visible on the english portal). Usually CAN to LAX, cheap cheap.

Congratulations !!!! and Good Luck with the rest of it !

We will book the plane ticket after I get the CR1 visa. I checked Ctrip.com, no flights fly to Burlington, VT, so, we might book tickets from Continental Airlines or United Airlines

Thanks, Darnell!!

WoW you got your interview date so fast!! Congratulations on that though

Thanks!! Guangzhou did a good job, I think :)

Ya - lilib participated in NVC Electronic Processing with a Guangzhou-bound casefile.

One of the benefits (for Guangzhou casefiles) is that appointment is set between 1 to 5 days of 'case complete' at NVC. I know, is grand exception, but - when done this way - is never that 'wait for 2nd week of the month to set the interview'.

I know, I know - it's a big deal, really !!! If a Guangzhou casefile 'stayed paper', it adds 2 to 5 months of wait time, before even 'Casefile Opened' timetick - and then still the IV Unit at Guangzhou sets the appointment for 3 to 11 weeks in the future.

YAY !!! GoGoGadget NVCElectronicProcessingGuangzhou !!!

Yes, Guangzhou EP is so much faster, I think

Congrats lili ... :star:

Thanks, Deb!! :D

Congrats on getting the interview date. Yes, flight is so expensive during June....IT costs me about $1500 for my round trip from Seattle to Hong Kong...well, I'm picky too as I do not like to trasfer within the US or Canada. And my husband's one way ticket (if he gets approve on the 7th) is looking at about $1000.....

Good luck and take care!

Best wishes to every one's journey!!

Thanks!! Good luck to you too!!

Congratulations...

That was fast!

Thanks!! Yep, it was fast! :star:

congrats! You got the interview date so fast!

Thanks!!

Aw.. Congratulations!.. :star:

so are they still scheduling interviews? Its confusing some say first two weeks and then I see interview assignments through out the months.. ??

Thanks!!

Yep, I guess Guangzhou is still scheduling the Interview Dates. For other countries, the Interview Dates schedule on second week of each month, but I hear Guangzhou does his own schedule

Lilib! That's wonderful! I am very happy for you!

Thanks, Married2009!! I do hope you can get your Interview Day very soon!!!!

The two week reply is the script the operators read. It all depends on how many openings your embassy has. They schedule until the spots are filled - no real time frame. *subject to change without notice! :D

My flite is about $500 cheaper here to Jordan in July! Since I don't have an exact date yet, I can't buy... but this looks good!

Have you used it?

Not yet since I don't have the exact date I'm heading over either. I definitely am going to, though. Kang Lang recommended it on here and I've seen it on a few other boards. Kang Lang says she's had really good experiences with it and the price is what's quoted if you don't buy their upgrades. PM her for more info.

Hi,

A quick question about number 24 on DS-230 form. It aks for mothers family name at birth. Is it mothers family name at her birth or mothers family name at applicant birth. I am just a little confused and wanted to confirm it. I would appreciate your opinion. Thanks.

If this application is for your mother, then it would be your grandmothers family name your grandmother was born with. OR if this application is for you then it would be your mothers family name at her birth.

We will book the plane ticket after I get the CR1 visa. I checked Ctrip.com, no flights fly to Burlington, VT, so, we might book tickets from Continental Airlines or United Airlines

You might want to rethink a bit on this one - I suggest routing INTO NYC (as an end stop for ctrip.com ) then have other domestic leg that you purchase seperately, going to Vermont. The english version of ctrip.com doesn't have the 'special deals' in it, and sometimes you've got to talk with a human at the ctrip customer service desk.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

If your mom stopped after highschool that info should suffice. And who know why you would have military RFE if there was a N/A in the blank. Call and speak to a supervisor about it.

Thanks, RPS. I found out what the problem was. That information was actually missing because I had to include the Ds-230 form in another package. They accepted all the civil documents and are currently reviewing the DS-230 form.

I got, in writing, that police certificates are not required if one has lived in another month for less than 12 months! Finally!! No certificate from Italy, yeah!
