Obama throws the opening pitch

President Obama tossed out the first pitch at Nationals Park Monday afternoon, throwing high and wide to start the Washington team's opener against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Obama drew a mixture of cheers and boos from the crowd as he strolled out onto the field wearing a Chicago White Sox cap in a nod to his hometown team. It was his first trip to the stadium since taking office.

"A little high and outside," Obama remarked after his pitch.

You would have thought Pelosi could have let him have his balls for one afternoon.

Fixx0red.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I think Ford was the only president not to look like a fool when throwing out the first pitch.

GWB managed to throw a strike, from the rubber, wearing a flack vest. Of course, he did own a baseball team for a while.

Light-hearted teasing and poking fun at each other without making personal attacks or insults is fine; bringing a family member into a comment aimed at another member is not. Personal attacks often come disguised as 'humour' and the comment above appears to fall into that category. It is not acceptable and it is not funny. Please do not continue in this vein.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Ford wasn't bad but Bush was the best consistent pitcher we had.

Compare his first shot at throwing out the first pitch.

Bush floated the ball in and Obama didn't stride, who cares. Obama admits that he was trying to lob it in but it slipped a bit. Were you expecting The President to rear back, kick his plant leg sky-high like Koufax, Marichal or Tidrow and throw a bb down the middle of the plate. Maybe Boehner should have stood in the batter's boax and Obama could have thrown high and inside on him. Honestly, who among us can throw a four-seam fastball at more than 90mph.    Girls can indeed throw so it is a sexist comment, Pooky. :P Have you ever seen Marilyn Quayle throw a football, her form is perfect.
