The requirement is that you have meet. Some people have meet in transit somewhere, later applied and approved. There is no requirement on how long the visit is. With photos, visa stamps, boarding passes you should be okay- just send in proof you have physically meet. Dont stress about the lenght of your visit too much!!!!

Best of luck!

So you only met once in person, for 3 days? While PP is correct that one short meeting is all that is needed, and your case certainly won't be denied automatically because of only having one meeting, consular officers do like to see more than one meeting, especially in the more difficult visa countries, of which the Philipines is one. If your fiance cannot visit again, I definitely recommend having lots and lots of other bonafide relationship evidence.

I don't see an issue with a 3 day visit as long as you two have lots of evidence of a legitimate relationship (emails, letters, pictures, receipts etc etc etc.) The K1 guides will describe the evidence you need.

There is no requirement that your fiance' be at the interview at all. I would guess that 95% (maybe higher) sponsors DO NOT attend the interviews, especially K1 interviews. My wife went through in July 09 and she said all the K1 applicants appeared to be there alone, no fiancees at all.

There are a lot of posts from fiancees about the interviews, questions asked and procedures. Review them and you will see the process is not as bad at it seems. If you have a legitimate relationship and plenty of evidence......you will be fine.

The pictures of the two of you together are probably the most important. When they asked for proof of genuine relationship during the interview, the pre-screener didn't even ask for the phone/video call/chat logs that I had, just took the pictures - but I think every pre-screener / CO is different so just bring as much proof of your relationship as you can.

Don't be scared about going to the interview alone! There were a lot of K-1s on the day I had my interview and there were only 2 that had their fiances with them :)

Meeting is a requirement for petition approval. To obtain the actual visa, one must convince a Consular officer the relationship is bona fide. These are completely separate issues requiring different attention and evidence.

Yes, having only three days together counts as a negative but if you have plenty of convincing evidence of a bona fide relationship AND often more importantly are well prepared for the interview, there's a good chance of success. All that said, if I were your fiance, I would treat the matter of getting back to the Philippines before or during the time of the interview as a matter of the utmost importance relating to his potential future happiness.

If he can't be there at the time of the interview, perhaps postpone it until he CAN make the trip. In my opinion, it will be very hard to overcome the fact that you have spent only three days together in a holiday setting (for him, at least) and based only on that, you are prepared to spend the rest of your life with him. It is fair for the consular officer to assume it's all about getting you into the US and obtaining a green card. You will need to disprove that.

hi, i want to add my opinion about your question, my fiance at that time (now my husband already and were living in kentucky) visited me only for 4 days, i only had 2 minutes of interview and i passed it that was august 2009. the consul asked me if how many times my fiance visited me and i said only 4 days and he ask how do i know if me and my fiance are really meant to each other if we only spent 4 days together and had engagement. just be honest and tell something about the real feeling you have, i was thinking about this before i have my interview and this question was asked to me twice and i answer it twice. no need to worry, you will be alright, just prepare every evidence, what matter is for you to be with your fiance, i wish you goodluck.

John came to visit me only once in the Philippines and he stayed for 5 days. He didn't go to the interview. Showing the consul proofs of John's visit and our regular communication were enough to to grant me and my kids the K1 and K2 visas respectively. Good luck on your journey.

NO you only need to have met for a least one second to take your picture together. The burden is on you to prove your relationship and intent to marry this person forever during the interview process. Certain country specific consulates have other requirements of proof; read up on yours in the appropriate regional forum.

Your best bet would to have your fiance attend the interview itself. I attended my fiance's interview and they did not ask for any proof on an ongoing relationship at all - My presence at the interview was highly valued.
