are you sleeping on your arm or hand?

Nope! At least I don't think so. Sometimes the right hand goes off and sometimes the Left. VERY painful and I have to shake them for like 10 minutes before they get bettr. Right hand is always a bit numb now.

I'm back to bed 4:30 AM here. I'll try proping my arm on a pillow. Thanks

Can try one of those upcock wristbands, was scheduled for carpal tunnel surgery, but canceled when my ladder broke on me two months ago and I went crashing down to feet to solid concrete, nothing broken but damaged knee tendons that are finally coming back to life. By reducing my workload with my hands, they have improved greatly and that numbness is all but gone. But I needed my hands to pull myself up with a bad knee. If I only could get growth hormones to aid in the healing process, they kind of disappear with age. But was told it was illegal. Never ask what is illegal anymore, just about everything, only ask what is legal. That question can be answered with one or two words.

I have that same problem and it only shows up during pregnancy for me. I got my doc to give me monthly b-12 shots during my last pregnancy and it improved immensely.

I didn't get any sleep last night because both of my hands were bothering me. :(

I'm having a heck of a time being woken up with aching numb hands during the night. Anyone else? Any solutions?

Carpo?

Is the numbness in the little finger and ring finger only? or the whole hand?

If it's just those two fingers, it's constriction of the nerve around the back of the elbow. I used to get it regularly.

That's what I was going to say. My BF has an elbow injury that effected his bursa sack. Get numb fingers and the tingle all the time, especially when he puts some sort of pressure on the elbow.

You need to see a doctor, my friend.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Good grief, if you want to get technical can be anywhere from the spinal cord through I believe the 5th and 6th vertebrae. shoulder, elbow, or wrist. They have shock treatments for that, mind is at the base of my hands, the rest was outruled, but can be anywhere and that especially includes your neck. They put electrodes on my finger tips and with probe worked backwards to my neck with a shock probe to measure the intensity of the response at my fingertips. Kind of suspected something in my neck as well, but did an MRI to outrule that, also another at the base of my hand.

General health is equally important, found out I was a tad low on vitamin D, found that hard to believe since I drink 3 gallons of milk per week, must by lying about their vitamin D content, so taking a supplement.

Got touchy with my doctor and my hands are my key tools, let me see other patients, he does a very neat job on stitching the skin back together, hardly even a noticeable scar as is done in that hand lifeline I believe they call it. Severs that tendon that goes across, suppose to heal to relieve pressure. Okay, I am over 18, hell a lot older, but claims that kids can have this problem. Never had it before, must be falling apart, but was doing a lot of electrical work using 6AWG wire, must have snapped something. It's hell getting old, but I guess it beats dying. It's good we have an excellent health insurance plan, but also costing us a small fortune, trying to get benefits from it while I am still kicking.

Hands are to numb to jack off!

Been to a doctor. He gave me Aleve. Didn't help. Tryed splints. Nothing.

Looks like I'll have to get the electric test. I do have 3 herniated disc in my neck but for some reason doctor said that wasn't it. He's talking maybe carpel tunnel.

Had the electrical shock test years ago for something else and it hurt BIGTIME.

Little finger and thumb not affected.

BOTH hands do go numb tho. Right is more painfull than the left.

Getting old isn't for the meek! You have to be tough to enjoy all the sh!tty ####### that goes with it. Screw the GOLDEN YEARS. You only piss a lot more!

Thanks guys.

I guess I'm going for the shock test.
