Haha, I love those stories, especially the how he got you pregnant one.

The epidural sounds so painful, ugh. I hate needles, I'm not even looking forward to getting the IV put in.

How I found out I'm pregnant:

It was planned. I got off birth control pill in August and wanted about three cycles to pass to ensure any harmones from the birth control pills are flushed out before we start trying. Since we are considered 1) an older couple (I'm 34, hubby is 44) and 2) in a commuter marriage so we see each other on a biweekly basis, I estimated that we have about 10% of conceiving in the first three months, 50% within six months, and 100% within a year. If we weren't successful in a year, we would do IVF.

I consulted my mentrual and ovulation charts, put myself AND HUBBY on prenatal vitamins, and timed my visits to Seattle (I'm from Vancouver, BC). I bought a bunch of pregnancy tests.

My period was late in November. Pregnancy test came out negative. I got worried this might be the first sign of difficulty in conceiving.

My period was late again in December. Pregnancy test came out positive. Elated! I went to the doctor to validate the pregnancy test--NEGATIVE! The doctor pooped on my cheerios.

For few days, my period does not show up. I did the pregnancy test again--POSITIVE! Went to a different doctor to validate again--POSITIVE!

:D

Oh, and how we found out we're pregnant? My husband just needs to stare me in the eye and bam, I'm sperminated.

I was trying on shoes for my wedding and modeling them for him the week before we got married. They were all red stiletto heels I ordered from Zappos.

He got hot watching me sashay down the hall. Called me from the room to help him with something, I went in, then he pinned me against the wall and had his way with me.

After a missed period, I knew. His sperms took.

Oh my! It's getting hot in here!

Errm the story how you found out you were pregnant, not how you GOT pregnant J&B :P

I was considering natural home water birth, but after reading y'all's birth stories, I'm doing hospital with epidural!

I just knew I was pregnant. It was only 2 weeks in but I knew.

I was only 19 when I got pregnant - 20 when I gave birth. I mean it isn't the story of absolute happiness most moms have. I was in college at the time in North Bay had just done one semester of business studies. Bought a test, took it, it was positive. I told my boyfriend at the time, we had only been together for 3 months, he literally said: "I can't handle this" and walked out.

That should have been my first clue to move on right away. But we did try to be parents and we did the whole family thing, bought a home, and tried really hard but we really didn't get along. I mean 3 months together, you're still learning about eachother and then a baby comes into the picture... it changes everything.

I could blame it all on age, but I have seen the same thing happen to 30 year olds. Kids come in the picture and the dynamics change completely. Some people just aren't ready for it... no matter how old they are. My ex will never be ready for it and that's fine by me.

My son absolutely rocks though. He really does light up my days. We've had many ups and downs together. But at the end of the day I'm just happy he's here.

Aww I want to leave work now and go pick him up and hug the little rascal.

Heeheehee. I thought it might take some time, too (I am 40, he is 44). Second ovulation - BAM. I took a test when I was 1 week late. The line went dark blue as soon as I laid the stick horizontal. There was no doubt whatsoever, not like the first time. I went in to hubby and said "We must be having a litter!" Funny. He wasn't so amused by that.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for sharing your pregnancy, childbirth, and other related stories...:)

I've enjoyed reading them...And to those of you who haven't posted..Feel free to post too!

Lol.I'll post my story too..(which I have been meaning to write it out for my own sake, but haven't done so, as I tend to get emotional over this, as there have been a lot of ups and downs along the way over the years, I admit...)

Heck..I've spent more time "planning" my baby than planning my wedding...lol...

Nevertheless, I'll do such and post it here sometime...

Menawhile, continue posting and I'll continue reading!

Happy pregnancies and babies everyone!

I'm new to all this. Is a douala like a midwife?
