Mal-Lol..We've all got to do something while we're waiting for the USCIS....

Though in my case...It was such a close race....Baby vs. 10yr green card....

And guess what won...The Baby.. (9 months)....vs. Card (10 months)....

Sigh.....

Those I assume are not covered by healthcare. I got a brochure with the following prices for 3D:

30 mins ultrasound session

Optional gender assessment

Visualizing baby's heartbeat

Keepsake folder (DVD, CD with images, 2 4x6 printed photos)

Optional web hosting for two months

$199 CAD

20 mins ultrasound session

Optional gender assessment

Visualizing baby's heartbeat

Keepsake folder (CD with images, 2 4x6 printed photos)

Optional web hosting for two months

$179 CAD

10 mins ultrasound session

Visualizing baby's heartbeat

1 4x6 printed photo

$99

Yikes, that's very expensive! I haven't decided whether I should do 3D or do the old fashion one.

Reven-Yikes! Those are expensive! Oh my...

Hmmm....I got mine done for FREE, as the hospital I was at already had such an option...

They gave me about 16+ photos on a CD too, when I had mine done at 18 weeks.....

Seriously, as your doctor and/or hospital whether or not they offer such an option...

Those 3D pics are nice to have!

I know the conception date of both pregnancies so I tend to calculate from that date (it makes more sense to me, personally).

My EDD is July 25, 2010.

TeamJandB-Same here....Did conception date instead of LMP date....(messed up cycles here..lol...).

More accurate that way..Though it was a tough sell to the drs though...lol..had to convince them otherwise....with charts and all...lol.....

Funny too, how your EDD is exactly 1 year after mine....lol....(though I don't think you'll have a July 30 baby!).

Yeah..I had too many halloween candies too...lol...;)

Now that's scary......a year after the fact....lol.....

I had the first ultrasound at around eight weeks. The doc inserted the ####### thing and bingo I saw the kidney bean lying there all proud, heart beating on the screen. It was touching.

I want to make a comment here about that first ultrasound. I know an abortion counselor who worked at a Planned Parenthood type place and she would encourage pregnant women to have their eight week ultrasound first before making a final decision on pregnancy termination. Now I know why. Just at two months, that image of something inside you is really quite indescribable.

My husband and myself are quite liberal and pro-choice all the way, but I think the pro-lifers really win the battle when they can urge a woman who wants an abortion to have the eight week ultrasound first. I am sure my friend has changed many minds.

Ok, that's all I have to say about that. Not preaching here. Heck knows I've had my fair share of terrible sins.

No wonder you're a Commie.

The dr. wouldn't prescribe me birth control (too old for the Pill, and never had kids so no IUD). We would have required the assets of the Rockefellers to afford all the condoms we would need for a month  so we left it in God's hands. I thought it would take longer than a month and a half, though!

Haha...nice.

Aren't most people nymphos, though? I thought that's the reason why they calculate from the LMP? Because most women remember that? ;)

I only had two cycles back before getting pregnant again. Your first few cycles after pregnancy are irregular, btw.

I arrived two weeks after my due date. My Mum says I'm still a procrastinator.

With my first child (a daughter) you couldn't tell I was pregnant. In fact, when my water broke and I went to the hospital, the staff asked if I was sure I was pregnant. They didn't believe me! It was a military hospital so no drugs for me. :crying: It was all natural. (This was back in the dark ages.) When he gave me the episiotomy I literally screamed 3 times with each cut because the Dr had not ensured that I was frozen before he sliced me open. During the delivery I realized why they call it "labour". OMG. Towards the end I was exhausted. I literally collapsed on the table and told them I had no strength left to push. She came out with forceps. I spent the next few weeks soaking in epsom salts in the bath until the stitches dissolved. Geezus. Oh. And I puked up all over the place because they left me alone without a call button or a vomit bowl and I couldn't get out of the bed. Oh! Another odd thing. Their call button was one of those little metal bells that you used to see on teachers' desks and to request service at the deli counter! They gave me one after that. lol

With my 2nd child (a son) I had a very problematic pregnancy. In the first trimester I had serious hemorrhaging and ended up in hospital for a week. The OB/GYN thought there must be something wrong with the baby (deformed in some manner) so did an ultrasound. (This was when ultrasounds first became available.) He was thinking he was going to perform an abortion. When the baby appeared normal he was confused. I think he came to the conclusion that there was a twin which self-aborted. Anyway, at 7 months he was planning to put me in the hospital for the remainder of the pregnancy because of my history and the fact that the baby was getting too big for my body. (I was a little thing.) Unfortunately, the umbilical cord detached from the wall of the uterus and I started hemorrhaging. Badly. This also meant that my son's lifeline was cut. They prepped me for a c-section but it was too late. I started delivering. No drugs allowed because of the situation. My Mum (who was a L&D head nurse at the same hospital) told me that the OB/GYN had never had a patient lose so much blood before. They almost lost both of us. My son was kept in the hospital for weeks. There was no bonding because they whisked him away and then made it almost impossible for me to visit due to the elaborate process involved. Nothing like today, that's for sure. I could see him through a window sometimes.

I never had anymore.
