I wanted to respond to Revenesque in the "Vent" thread, but I didn't want to jam it up with baby babble, it would be unfair to others who had serious venting to do.

I'm sorry to start another baby thread, but I felt the other baby thread in the "Off Topic" forum was just too big and they seem to have their established group already.

Is it ok if I start this one here? Anyone can join in the fun, not just knocked up VJers.

Ps - is the French in my title correct? It's been a while.

**********

Revenesque - you gained 10 lbs in 8 weeks? Old wives' tale would say you're having a girl.

They also say if you look pregnant from the back, it's a girl.

I didn't know what I was having with my first, but I gained around 22 lbs and did not look pregnant at all unless you saw my belly.

My gramma had three. Boy, girl, boy. She gained the most with the third one - 70lbs! She gained, I think 20lbs with my dad (the first).

My mom was HUGE when she was pregnant with me. I was 17 days late and she certainly looked like you could pop her with a needle. I literally ran out of room in the womb - it couldn't stretch anymore.

OMG! Were you talking and eating solids already when you came out?

Two weeks overdue is a long time! How much did you weigh at birth?

 Pretty close, I did everything early. I had a few complications - my feet were pointed inward.

I was 8lbs 8oz, which is pretty big for a girl.

I just hope I don't have a baby like my husband. Two months premie and he was already 5lbs 6oz.

A friend of mine had a boy who was over 10lbs.

I told her that wasn't a baby, it was a turkey!

I'm pregnant with #2. Due in July. The two kids will be 18 months apart.

I met a woman this weekend whose son is eight months now and was 11 lbs at birth. ALL NATURAL BIRTH. No drugs, all push.

My eyes bulged out of my socket so far I must have seemed so rude. But she and her husband weren't skinny minnies, but not huge either. Bigger boned, good ol' fashioned healthy Amurkin folks.

I just added the 'vous' in the title so the French is correct (I believe - someone correct me if I am wrong).

Congratulations, Moms to be!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Hey Everyone!

Can I join this "Canadian Babies" message thread?...(lol..the Baby Corner thread on vj is hard to keep up with...might as well start a new one here, I agree)

Lol. Oui, je avec bebe! (pardon..it's been years since I studied french in school, but you know what I mean here).

"Hello, my name is Ant...My baby's name is Aaron (but you can call him BabyA here on vj)...And he is now 5 months old..." :)

Here is the photo of my son (Baby Aaron), taken from when he got home from the hospital, a few days after he was born (which was the same photo that I had in my signature before....Will post more photos later on..when I figure out how to get photobucket working again):

th_374.jpg

Baby's Name: Aaron David

Date of Birth: July 30, 2009

Time of Birth: 4:15pm (16:15)

Well that's my and my baby son's introduction so far....Will talk more about babies on this thread next time...

Good luck everyone on all your pregnancies and other journeys too!

Happy and healthy pregnancies and babies to all! :)

Ant

P.S. When I was pregnant I gained 28lbs total..lol..and how I ended up with an 8lbs+ baby....I have no idea...

Ha, Team J&B--you rebel you for starting another baby group. I love it!

I got back from a work-sponsored health screening (where they do your cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar etc) and they got be weighed in at 110 lbs! What happened to the other 8lbs? So I asked to be weighed again...yup, still 110 lbs. Either our scale at home is wrong (it normally isn't) or the one they have is wrong. But they assured me it's a new scale.

???

So now I really just only gained barely 2 lbs. Does that change the baby girl forecast?

My grandpa was 14lbs. Born in the 30's in Cuba to a woman who was 4'11 and 90lbs soaking wet.

Whoa! Shouldn't that make the guiness record?...wait, I think that went to a 17 lbs baby from Brazil.
