We have a green card interview in a few weeks and would like to know if all of the documents submitted in the original I-485 packet, like a translated birth certificate for example, will be available for the interviewers to examine or if we need to pay to have more translations done and notorized?

We had our interview in the middle of November, the interviewer had a humungous file which contained each and every piece of paper that we had submitted from the visa to the AoS. We did make copies of everything and took it with us just in case. If you look at the notice that you received with your interview date, it has a list of what to bring with you to the interview.

They have everything you sent them. What you should bring is a photo album showing the two of you getting married and wasted after the big feast afterward. I still believe that's the most efficient piece of evidence for the AOS interview (and later the I-751).

You need to bring significantly more documentation than just a photo album of your wedding. You'll need to bring documentation of comingling of assets and resources mainly to prove a bona-fide relationship

What if my wife and I do not want to commingle assets? What are we supposed to do?

is an interview require on all AOS applicants?

It looks like my wife got hers without having one. I don't know what determines whether or not you get one. It may have to do with us living in Boston but having our case transferred to California.
