After reading all the horror stories about so many civil surgeons trying to get full medicals and big $$ instead of vaccination transcriptions, I was wondering..

I know from other posts that VJ does not endorse any specific civil surgeon, but can we get a list started of whose who demand full medicals and those who just will do the vaccination transcription?

Name, Where, yes, no, $

That way those of us can learn from those who came before.

And even if Dr. Arnold is cut from the USCIS civil surgeon list, I'd rather pay $200-$400 for a flight to another state and get transcribed in person for $50 than to pay a greedy ####### $850 for something not needed.

I paid $230 for full medical plus TB Skin Test and Tdap shot. But I did my chest X-ray for free at the Health Department since my TB Skin Test turned out positive. And I am in Charlotte, NC.

Cheers...

Remember that you don't need a full medical if you had one in the past year. Bring in all of your vaccination records and ask them to fill out the supplemental form (Parts 1 and 5 only). I waited 15 minutes and paid $25. I saw Dr. Gonzalo A. Fernandez in NC.

Actually, I didn't even see the doctor. His secretaries collected my vaccination records and had me fill out Part 1 of the form. 15 minutes later they handed me 2 envelopes. One was sealed for USCIS and the other was my copy.

Yeah, I don't get why people are using CS's to get their vaccinations and then complaining that CS's charge too much.

We didn't want any vaccines. Just the transcription. We are paying $65 (!!), but the next lowest was $165. "Just for the transcription?" "No, we ONLY EVER do a FULL medical" Well, shoot.

Maybe this is an issue for some, but many many are having the transcribing problem.

Some people in recent threads are posting 850.

Disgusting.

Unfortunately, its true! I was quoted $850 by a doctor here in Colorado. Actually her exact words were, "we usually end up charging people around $850" which to me sounded very strange and suspicious. She also told me I would need to send them $350 as a down payment before they would even look at me. Nice.

Based on the information I gathered, and a few different scenairos of some people not wanting to get another medical done, and some who wanted to (if it was within a year of applying for K1). I made the choice of going for another medical just to be on the safe side. I called a few different places in a 75 mile radius of where I am located. I found 3. One had an extremely long waiting list, the other also had a long waiting list and would be charging for immunizations that may be given on top of the $180, the last one I called did everything for $200 (including any updates) luckly I didnt need any. At the time I thought it was too much, but compaired to some of the amounts people have been paying I feel greatful. I hope this information will be able to help provide a general idea.
