Barack Obama sees worst poll rating drop in 50 years

I am saddened on health care. I still hope something positive will come out of the current proposals, but honestly think what will result will not substantially alter the status quo, not in terms of offering affordable health care to the majority of US citizens. The result of that will be a greater mistrust of Democrats in general. I guess that is worst case, but...I am disheartened about it at the moment, I have to say.

I don't understand the current US thinking on Afghanistan. The best thing they can do is support Afghani political foundations and help train their police and armed forces so that they can take care of their own problems. Engaging in a prolonged conflict with the Taliban is a waste of, well everything.

I see it that way, too. There's little, if anything, to be won over there. Least of all when the guys you need to work with are an openly corrupt bunch. This, I believe, is why there's prolonged deliberation on where to go from here. The debacle that was the election over there has got to change the approach we're taking. A functioning democracy is not a realistic goal - never has been, really - and we shouldn't waste any blood or treasure to chase it. It would be a futile exercise.

So your thought is, because Reagan was shot, survived and got a bit of a temporary boost from the incident early on in his first term, before a disastrous 2 year down slide in popularity was brilliant strategy by Reagan? It would seem his slide would have begun immediately, and for better than 2 years from Reagan's get go, except of course for the 'fortunate' failed assassination attempt temporarily bolstering his initially considerably lower than Obama's popularity ratings...

Just saying, I am glad Barack avoided a repeat of that little Reagan publicity stunt myself... [Of course that is sarcasm!]

Normally I don't get political, so there is nothing more for me to discuss after this. But I sure can't wait till 2012 when this communist, socialist, moron gets run out of office. This is the U.S.A. not Russia, Europe, Aust, or any other country. If he and this admin. likes those systems so much, they can leave the GREAT USA. Me and many others would gladly kick em outa here and send them on there way to any other country of there choice.

Unfortunately, the truth hurts. Bush owns the mess, Obama owns what he is doing to get out of it. We had 8 years to judge Bush. We've had 8 months of Obama. Obama still deserves more time to be judged on whether he fuсks things up more than Bush.
