Quick question : The case number needed to check status on the USCIS website is not given with the NOA1 or am I wrong? If so, then no way for anyone to check status?

You're right. The case number is the application number that is written on the Biometrics appointment notice. You need the application number to check your status.

You are not wrong at all. Those of us who haven't gotten the Bio letter yet cannot check our status neither because the number to be able to do that is on the Bio letter which we are still waiting to get. So we are basically in the limbo

I didn't bother it because I heard many ppl received 2 times too, it should be an error for USCIS.

I'm more nervous than my husband about our petition  it's the waiting part that's getting to me... everyday i'm checking the uscis site for signs of life of our petition... my husband says to me don't do that because it's going to take time... i just wished i knew something... i don't want an rfe or interview and definitely not a denial.... my nerves are bad and this is really getting to me :help::crying:

Passage Revelation 19:11:

11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

"satan is real and he's playing for keeps
God is realer and we are His sheep
which side are you on, CHOOSE, start moving your feet
choose JESUS and have ETERNAL PEACE" by GOD to me on 9/26/10 about 2am
Thank you Jesus!!!!

Hi,

You shouldn't get nervous just yet. Your petition has been with VSC for less than 2 months - so there is still about another month to go. I beleive they are processing April applicants right now. As long as you are still married and are living together - then there should not be any problems... and by the way, denials are not sent immediately, so there is still a long way to go before that even becomes a possibility. If you are keeping track of the April applicants, then you will realize that all May applicants are in the same boat waiting for VSC to wrap up April.

At this point, just relax and don't think about it. Also, remember that their online system is not that accurate - so you could be getting the approval in the regular mail even before they change the online status.

oh ok, i'll try not to get nervous... i don't like this immigration process but i know it's necessary....thanks for your response... i'm trying to keep busy with other things but it's quite hard for me... our petition is of the utmost importance to me as i know it is to everyone with their own applications...thanks again

We received an e-mail from CRIS today in regards to the Service Request we placed on June 28th for the biometrics letter. It looks like the VSC is waiting for availability at the local ASC to schedule our biometrics appointment. That's a big relief for us, as we were scared the appointment letter could have been lost in the mail.

The status of this service request is:

The Vermont Service Center (VSC) has received your request inquiring about your biometrics appointment. A review of the electronic records indicates your appointment will be scheduled as soon as there is availability at your local Application Support Center (ASC). You will receive your new appointment notice confirming this date and time in the mail. Please follow the instructions on the notice.

Guys, I think the issue with bio appointments coming later and later has to do with people getting booked twice for appointments. It's therefore taking twice as long to get to the next set of people, which will set back the process twice as long as whenever the issue started.

The other thing is they could have put a hold on sending out bio notices all together until they sort out the mix up (which in the long run seems to be the smarter thing to do).

NATURALIZATION

For those of you like me who still haven't received their biometrics letter and don't have the 'actual' receipt number to follow the case online you can try calling the support number and asking to speak to an Immigration Officer (higher level than the Agents), the Officer I got to speak with was very helpful and gave me my receipt number even though I still don't have a biometrics scheduled. This way I can follow the case online. Just a thought because this was really making me nervous not to know anything at all...
