Welcome ranchomesa. I added you to the spreadsheet (see link below to access the spreadsheet). One additional question, did you file the I693 with your AOS package? You have an almost identical timeline to km24. Not all cases are transfered to CSC. So far, less than 25% of our October filers.

@ simbafuzz, rpt1020 congrats on the EAD and AP. First in the group. We should start seeing a flood of approvals now. :dancing:

@ monicaolivo I'm holding off entering your EAD date in the spreadsheet since you haven't had the bio yet. If you get it in the mail, let us know.

To naturalize or not to naturalize, that is my question. I know we are miles and miles away but as we all know that no sooner have we learnt all the different form names and timelines for one process, another more confusing one waits around the corner.

I just wonder if there will ever come a day when I don't have to worry about what country I live in, what passport I have, keeping track of all this paperwork I have stored, USCIS, packages, sleepless nights. Aaah, I had thought about moving back to the UK when I have children (3 years from now) but I see it's just not that simple.

Sorry dudes but my friend who happens to practice immigration law suggested I should look into naturalization for afterwards and it freaked me out. I know I don't have to but then I read this statement -

''Probably the most logical reason to become a Citizen is to release your US Citizen spouse from the legal obligations of the I-864 affidavit. The financial responsibility of the I-864 is a liability to the US Citizen spouse which should be removed at the earliest opportunity.''

Back to the simplicity of our AOS for now though!!!

Hi, Everybody !

I want to thank everybody for sharing your own experience and thoughts about the "AOS". I've learned a lot in this helpful forum that I decided to get ride of my immigration attorney (since the second NOA/ Interview for K1 Visa while I was still in Brazil) and fill all the immigration paperwork out by myself.

I also want to share my timeline with this group:

What is I-693? is that the medical exam? We didnt send it since my husband already did his exam before he entered US with the K-1 visa. The US embassy told us its not necessary to do I-693. So far, we havent received any RFEs, do u think that might be the problem? thanks Greg. I dont know how to show my timeline... hope to get his Bio appt soon or the EAD cuz the DMV only gave the DL till Dec 4 thats when his I94 expired. If you filed the I-485 Before the I-94 expired, then even if he has to wait longer - he is NOT in violation of the Visa.

According to the instructions on page 4 for the I-485:

8. Fiance(e)s: If you are a K-1 fiance(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the non-immigrant fiance(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement, not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your form I-485.

Now some folks have noted it says "may include", but it is required at some point according to the USCIS instructions. http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485instr.pdf

We received our biometrics appointment letter today, dated for November 25th. Does anyone know if Baltimore allows walk-ins? It's a good hour and a half drive from where we live, and I don't want to go all the way there before our appointment, only to be turned away.

Also, do they let spouses in the building, or will I have to wait outside?

Timeline
We received our biometrics appointment letter today, dated for November 25th. Does anyone know if Baltimore allows walk-ins? It's a good hour and a half drive from where we live, and I don't want to go all the way there before our appointment, only to be turned away.

Also, do they let spouses in the building, or will I have to wait outside?

I had my appointment on the scheduled date in 100 South Charles Street, Suite 201, Baltimore (would that be your exact location too?). I really don't know if they allow walk-in but I can tell you that the security did scrutinize my appointment letter. As per your spouse waiting..... yep, your spouse can wait in the building. It's a big building owned by Bank of America with lots of other offices there, so there are seats just directly outside the ASC office (suite) and there's also a food court downstairs.

Hope this helps a wee bit!!
