Did anyone here attend a Teabag Rally on the 4th?

I did see one teeny tiny crowd in downtown- honestly there were about 10 folks there. Bless their confused souls.

Nope.

:P

They must be confused. Colin Powel said earlier Americans do want to pay taxes for services and are looking for more government in their life, not less.

To me it just speaks that they probably didn't vote for Obama in 08

The way Obama's running the economy pretty much insures he's a one-term president.

The idea small tea bag parties mean nobody cares could also apply to the nearly non-existent anti-war movement during two wars over an 8 year period.

Speaking of the "anti-war" (mini) movement, either they dropped off the face of the earth or... the Press lost interest in them?

As for the Tea=Parties, it's a little hard to believe they are already up and Running this early in the Obama term,

Steve give us your take... Will the movement grow or peter-out as these 4 yrs pass?

Nope. They are very much alive here on the left coast. At noon every Friday, you can find them protesting on the main corners of towns all over Sonoma County. Code Pink is to the left of Pelosi, and they are active in the SF Bay area, along with Women in Black, Veterans Against the War, and a few other peace groups. Some of them are still holding anti-Bush signs. No anti-Obama signs yet.

The OP must need a good Obama rub!

I must have missed all the rallies for universal heath care, smart cars and closing Gitmo.

The question in the OP was did you get tea bagged...:rofl::rofl:

Sure Dave, if you say so. I think voters will likely be able to add 1+1 about economics and how much of a storm we've been in. Things are already starting to slow down, and once that reverses... I don't think there's much you can predict for 2012 against the sitting President.

I thought it a bit funny to see all kinds of predictions voters would validate Bush politics by handing McCain a victory, and now I read this.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

The only thing that has shriveled is the news reporting on it. The left has decided to ignore and belittle the protests rather than report on it. It will not matter, the movement is growing despite their best efforts. Watch what happens next year at the elections. You can't ignore it then.

Did he also say anything about Americans not wanting to get bankrupted by the services they currently pay an arm and a leg for when they eventually need them?

I counted 3 wing nuts on the local street corner this 4th. Not much tea bagging going on, they often used to number in the 20's.

The movement seems to be dwindling here.

Maybe, but now he seems more concerned about the entire country going bankrupt as a result of an attempt to stop that.

Could be. IMO, all people can do is decide at the voting booth at the next turn if they feel they made a wrong choice last year. Somehow, by that time, things *may* have turned around enough for people to see that the problem was very deep, and the solution undeepened the problem.

Or the hole got deeper and the next one in office would be left with something far deeper to dig us out of. So on and so forth. Maybe its all a big conspiracy to destroy us one President at a time.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
