Hello Winifredbee, how long have you been in the states and when was your last medicval examination?

If you came in as a K 1 and married within the 90days timeline, then i dont see why you feel the need for a complete physical.

Personally if you come in within the last year ,itwould be a waste of money to do another physical.

Is this the only document holding you back from mailing?

By the way, when did you come in ?

S

Hello Shashar,

I returned to the states with my Husband on the 26th of March. We were in Nicaragua waiting for approval on his K-1 visa. We got married on the 23rd of May. We are super happy and excited to keep moving forward in our journey. The vaccination paper is the last thing I need to file and most doctors do not want to just do the vaccination supplement. I am still working on it. I have read that a few people that filed in April are getting RFEs for waiting to close to the one year date of their last physical. I am not in danger of this but I wish getting the sealed envelope was easier. I may just use Dr. A I think I know what we need now.

Thanks.

Congrats...I think you mentioned that you sent your packet out. Keep us posted!

To NCwife, are you saying you have been in the states for a year without filling your AOS?Because that is how good the K 1 medical result is valid.

Just wondering.

Yes, I came to the US on K-1 almost a year ago and at the same time, my husband's auto business wasn't doing too well and money was very tight for us to even live day to day. Now, with his business picking up and his new job at the Sheriff's office, we are finally able to file for AOS, although way overdue! That's the reason why I have to do the medical all over again.

It's a lot of money to do the medical but to make my husband and I feel better, we tell ourselves that we don't have to worry about USCIS losing my medical records file that I submitted at POE. I am sure that happens a lot. I was planning to get my tetanus shot and HIV/Syphilis test done at the local health department for free but we were thinking if the FREE service is well worth it. It's true that we can save around $133 but the waiting time is killing us - waiting to get appointment and waiting to get the results back (longer than the civil surgeon's office) and we have to make numerous return trips as health dept can't schedule to have everything done on the same day. I depend on my husband to drive me there and he works a lot so time off is difficult too. We figured that $133 can be earned back easily but time cannot and most importantly, less stress.

So, this afternoon, my husband and I decided to do everything at the civil surgeon's office. They charge us $238 for physical, bloodwork (HIV 1+2, syphilis), TST and Tetanus shot. My appointment is tomorrow morning and if everything comes back fine, I will receive the results of my bloodwork and the TST reading by Friday, altogether in a sealed envelope.

After so many months or a year of waiting, we just want to send this in asap, no more waiting and no more delaying. Just want to get this off our shoulders.

Let's hope everything goes well for me and everyone here on VJ !

Cheers...

Good, more members ,,looks like June too will be another busy month on VJ.Welcome to Spiceconiac and subguy812.Spiceconia,you definitely belong here with us June mailers. How cool is that?

I mailde mine this morning and boy am i stressfree? The waiting part too is not easy.

To NCwife,i understand your situation alot more now.I think its smart that you did the whole medical to avoid RFE.Sorry things were alittle tight for you and your hubby, but look ahead for better days are still to come.

Of course your medical result will be fine and i most say that was a good rate comparative to what i paid for TB skin text and MMR1 here in Arizona.

Just get everything right at once ,go over ever document atleast twice,i did.

You dont want them requsting for additional evidence especially now that you are filling alittle late.

Keep us posted,i hang here everyday doing nothing.Time is all i have ,untill i hear from USCIS.

Thanks Winfredbee,i did mailed out my package today, hopoe you do soon too.

Everything will befine,,,,,that is just me thinking/////

Shashar,

Thank you for remembering. You are so sweet. I just got back and we have our sealed envelope. WOOO HOOO! It cost us $155 but that is better than the other offers. I am ready to go but I realized this morning that I am waiting for our NOA2. We never received our NOA2 so I called USCIS last week and they said they would send us another copy. I was very relieved because they often make you pay $340 for a second copy. My petition was approved on a Sunday so I think it may have been a mistake on their end. Something about contractors working on Sundays. I hope to get it tomorrow or thursday because we are leaving Friday and not returning till Tuesday. I will enjoy our long weekend knowing the AOS was mailed. So close!

I figured it out. Go to your profile and click on 'my assistant' and click on 'edit forum signature' You can cut and paste your timeline in and play around with the color and font. Do you think my marriage font is over the top?
