I finally received the EAD card after 8 days of waiting (the envelope was stamped for 7/30 but i received it on 8/6).

Anyways, I went to apply for replacement of my SS card but found out I have to wait TWO WEEKS for it to be mailed to me?!?!?!?!?

How long did it take for you guys to receive your SS cards?

We applied after our wedding. A name change was involved so they put in a request for a name change and the SSN. It took almost a month to get the card. We applied before the I-94 expired.

Did any of you who received approval on your GC receive touches right before approval or just your email or website update stating you were approved? These touches 2 days in a row have me anxious now.

Hello everyone. Thank you for the congratulations and wish a good luck to all of you still waiting. Stay positive. It won't be long. Yesterday I had a feeling all day something was happening because i was checking my e-mail every 20min. The last time there they were. Two e-mails ;)))

I have a question. I see that some of you are applying for a replacement for the SSC. I thought the replacemnt should take place when the green card is issued in order to remove the restrictions from the SSC. I have my SSC for 4 years and I haven't changed my name so I don't think I need to replace my card yet, right???

I'm starting to feel a little left out here

Me too :(

Aha...company ..I fell better now

Count me in. We're a trio.

Some of you are blessed, behind your wildest dreams. Millions of people around the world wish they were in the same position as we are (approved or pending).

GC HOLDERS: Whatever happens next and whatever leads you down your path... make the best of that GC. Don't waste it. Never forget who you were before it. A GC is a ticket to the wildest, happiest, most promising life anyone could ever live. Jump in and enjoy, just promise yourself that between the rides you will slow down and remember how lucky and blessed (whatever faith) you are.

And of course, pay your taxes, stay away from crime, serve your community, look up to the flag and your God. That will keep you out of trouble

I feel inspired tonight.

DARN IT WHERE IS MY INTERVIEW LETTER!?

Thank you for such words of inspiration and encouragement.I couldnt have worded it better and each day i thank God for an amazing opportunity like this,,,Am married to the most loving ,romantic and charming man i ever imagine,i am living in a country full of opportunities. The advantages in this country are countless, and i work hard, well study hard hard to make one of my dreams come true,,,Tobe an RN ..

And yes, there is more joy in giving than in receiving,so i try tobe a good samaritan when ever possible.I love this country and i see a wonderfull ,successful future ahead .

To quote Leo Feng,,,pay your taxes, stay away from crime, serve your community and give thanks to God everyday of our lifes,,because we are all abudantly blessed in everything.

Let us be outstanding citizens ,PR or whatever our status at the moment,

One of my favorite authors is Ben Carson,,,,he is a neurosurgeon at John Hopkins hospital in MD.If you dont beleive in the saying from grass to grace,i encourage you to read one of his books,,,,,Gifted Hands,Think Big and The perfect Picture.

To qoute Dr Phil,,lets do something special everyday to make our spouses ,our marriage and our relationship a better one everyday.

Thanks Leo Feng for chanllenging us to take a deeper look inside ourselves and either re evaluate our priorities or continually make our lifes more successful.

Take care all,

S

I used to read alot of romantic novels, but have given up complete .Instead i read a lot of insprational books .

Well,how i met my husband?

I moved to canada from cameroon in 2006,it was winter and i have never been anywhere that cold.I stayed inside alot.I was so bored and decided to invest in a lap top and before long i was chatting online with a few people in Canada and US.None of these guys were interesting to me,most of them love to party, stay out late .I decided to make contact rather than wait tobe contacted.I started reading profiles and i came to one that i couldnt resist sending an IM and to my surprise he responded. He was skeptical because people he had been intouch lied on their profiles,,some said they were in the US,or Canada and he later found out that they were either somehere else.

Anyways,we started talking on Im,then Phones,.We were very comfortable talikng with each other and before i knew it he said when is you holiday?I will like to come visit for two weeks,,,,,,,And that is how it all started,i moved from Toronto to Vancouver and he didnt give up.My man made 5 trips to Canada and proposed on the sixth,,at one of our favorite places,,White Rock.

Then we started the K 1 process and the day he came to pick me was he 12th visists to me.Everyday i will tell him how lucky that i am and he will say,No sweetheart,am the lucky man.We are one lucky and happy couple...

Hope my story is not boring,am not a very good story teller.

Panna and Shashar - those are nice stories! Thank you for sharing them.

Here’s mine:

I was living in San Francisco and totally addicted to surfing. I didn’t want to waste my time with dating because all I wanted to do in my free time was surf. One dreary February morning, I went to my local beach as usual. It was cold and the wind was gusty and it was raining on and off. Jeff was there surfing too and we started chatting. Afterwards he suggested we grab a cup of coffee at the coffee shop on the beach to warm up. (L)

We started dating and surfed together every weekend. Then one long weekend, he took me on a surf trip down to Southern California. We loved San Diego and dreamily thought, “wouldn’t it be nice to live here?” A few weeks later, I applied for a job in SD and ended up getting it! I wanted to go, but wasn't sure what was going to happen with Jeff. But then he quit his job in San Francisco the same day I quit mine and we moved together to San Diego. Even though most of our friends are up in the Bay Area, we decided to leave everything behind and seek the better surf and warmer water (and fewer sharks too!) of So Cal. We now live a wonderful, happy life enjoying this promised land. B)
