Longtime lurker here, this forum has been very helpful in tracking our progress and giving us tips on what to do.

This morning, we finally received our NOA2 notifications (via email) for both the I-130 and I-129F. Our NOA1 for the I-130 was 9/16/08 and the NOA1 for the I-129F was 10/3/08.

I think the lesson from our case was to not hesitate to get people involved. We've emailed both senators in our state and when the I-129F went outside of processing times at the beginning of this month, I called USCIS and adamantly pressed for a service request. After some tense back and forth, we were finally granted one and I have no doubt that the service request is what got our approval.

On to NVC!

Good Luck with the rest of the process :)

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Very pleased to hear of your approval and your pro active approach to "get it done".

Well done and may this be a lesson to all of us. For if we sit back and take whatever we are given, then that's exactly what we will get. I firmly believe that taking the course of action you did produced the results and if enough people were to take this course of action then perhaps we would get a change in the process whereby these long, to my mind inexcusable waits to be re united would reduce.

Best wishes and may you get back together again soon.

:star: congrats! :star:

and welcome to NVC

A funny thing happened to me (K3) on the way to the NVC.

Both the I130 and I129f were sent 4/2/09 to the NVC.

The 129f zipped out in about 12 days.

(use the phone operator; otherwise updates are slow).

BUT. . . .

The 130 is still "Not Received" by the NVC.

Obviously (or not) you would like to use the CR1 (less $$).

So now I am wondering:

Will the emabssy get the 130 from the NVC in time for a CR1 interview???

Or will it be a K3 with adjust status later on????

Is this a frequent thing with K3 filers???

;)

I-130 Submission to Interview - 162 days
