No - it does not mean RFI.

Look at the back of the check, your case number should be there (WAC-#) - use that to check status online.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

don't get worried yet! the noa1 can take a few weeks to get to you so sadly all you can do is wait. i'd probably give it four weeks from the date they cashed the check. the good news is that they received your package and are processing it or they wouldn't have cashed the check. good luck with your journey. :)

Patients is a virtue unless you are appling for a visa.

Then call them and bug the ####### out of em LOl.

I am kind of serious about that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. If its not moving call and find out why yes look at the check call your congressman. We pay the money we follow the rules we should demand results.

You will know if you get an RFE, the process takes 90-120 days, so you wouldnt be getting an RFE yet. You should also set up an account at USCIS website and you will see progress of your case, including an email about any RFE, approval, or denials before it comes in snail mail

IF YOU ARE NEW TO THE SITE, PLEASE READ THE GUIDES BEFORE ASKING ALOT OF QUESTIONS. THE GUIDES ARE VERY HELPFUL AND WILL SAVE YOU ALOT OF TIME!

No, don't worry. :) We sent our packet on July 18, 2008 & received or NOA1 on August 18, 2008. Just be patient. Most people receive their NOA1 quickly, but I guarantee you not all of us are the same. :D Good luck on your journey. Remember... PATIENCE is a key thing here. That's the only way you're going to make it through all this mess. I'm sure you'll hear something very soon! ;) May GOD grant you a smooth & speedy approval so that you can be reunited with your loved one quickly! :D

Patients is a virtue unless you are appling for a visa.

No visa has been applied for as of yet. The I-129f is a petition to then apply for the visa with the Embassy. ;) I know it may seem like a silly thing but the terminology is actually very important as you move along.

As stated above, many are taking longer to get NOA1's (I-797). Some never get the first ... you can call uscis and let them know if you used a money order...maybe you'll be lucky and they'll give it to you. It's the NOA2 (I-797) that you really need.

moving from general to progress
