RFE for including too much info!!

I just got off the phone with NVC and I got an RFE on my AOS packet because I included my sponsor's 2008 W-2s.

I-864 is filled out for 2007 and I included sponsor's 2007 taxes and sponsor's 2007 W-2s. Since the deadline is coming up I included the sponsor's 2008 w-2s for an extra measure. The woman on the phone basically told me to send the whole package again just without the 2008 W-2s.

I'm I retarded or are they?

Do I have to wait for the RFE in the mail or can I send the package again or send at email?

I cant remember exactly when but someone was in a similar situation as you a couple of months ago. They aslo included the 2008 W-2s, and they were told to submit their 2008 tax return. So maybe that is all you need to do to clear the RFE. Hope this helps.

Wait because you have to send the original RFE document with your reply!

I would wait on the RFE letter as it has to be returned with the documents they requested to a specific address. It is strange what she asked you to do though. Never heard of anyone being told to resubmit a package because it had too many supporting documents .

MKG, that totally sucks!! Hope u find the answer you seek. Did u ask the NVC operator? What do they recommend u do?

I included my 2008 tax return and my I-864 is for 2008. I would have to have my sponsor (my mom) do another I-864 with 2008 information.

Now I'm angry with myself.

I guess I'll wait for it in the mail. Does it take forever to get it in the mail?

Sorry this happened, but you didn't follow the instructions, your only suppose to include W-2's if you include the tax returns (photocopies) they are related to.

They can't throw away your W-2's since is a privacy thing.

You could of avoided this whole thing and just provide the tax transcripts. Then you don't have do not have to send W-2's.

The throwing the W-2 away was a joke. (my K-3ers know my humor).

Thanks Bobby! I don't know which tread I got the info off of to included my sponsor's 2008 W-2's for but if someone finds it - DON"T FOLLOW THAT ADVICE!!

can we get RFE if my I 864 only contains the last 3 yrs ( 2005-2007) since I have not filed my taxes yet and do not intend to do so until last minute since I owe on my taxes this year? Can NVC say oh we can't complete the case until u send us the 2008 tax return?

I am starting to worry, and confuse myself now. I turned in my I-864 for 2008, and I also including W2, and 1040 for all 3 years, 06, 07, and 08 ( All copy of my taxes return). Since my sister is the one file taxes for me every year. BUT, I haven't recieve the money from the IRS ( FED, & States Tax). Am I Okay?

mkg sorry about the RFE. But yes sending too much info causes problems too at NVC. They basically view having your W-2 and not your tax return as an issue, so when you sent the 2008 W-2 the question that was raised is where is the tax return. It's stupid, I would call NVC and see if you can get a supervisor on the line, and ask if you really need to re-submit the whole package. That just sounds silly!!!

What the heck... Usually, they send your application back to you. It's happened to my friend of mine. So on her second packet, she just sent recent W2 form and other important documents.
