I input the wrong Bithdate it said 2008 instead on the correct year. We did the infopass and they said all was good. They did not pick it up.

I went home started from scratch and found the error.

There was a earlier post telling me to check birthdate you were spot on.

I am resending today.

Same experience as Dias Melhores

The dhs assured me USCIS on the check was not the problem. I will make the correct changes to read Us department of homeland security anyway.

The people who helped with their responces deserve an explanation so as to be able to help future members

Thanks again

I posted a message in your thread early about double checking your date of birth. I was right after all!!! goodluck

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)

I had the exact same problem. i got a rejection notice with the same msg. The ppl at USCIS were off no use when we called them up. We racked our brains as to what could be wrong with the check and finally I checked VJ to find this thread. I put the year on by dob as 2010. How incredibly stupid.

Anyway, this is just to thank you guys. This certainly saved us a lot of time. Soemtimes VJ just knows better than USCIS hlpline.

When you filed the AOS did you have to send the affidavit of support with the application?i'm not what forms I need to send them first.

I had our AOS rejected also but it was my mistake I made the check for 1080 LOL for some reason with all the forms I filled out I was thinking the fee was more....sooo the 2nd time around I made 2 1 for 80 and 1 for the 930. It went through fine..but got a RFE for a copy of hubby's birthcertificate..which was there but they must have overlooked it..but sent a copy in anyways and we got our biometrics appointment letter a week after that.

The check MUST be made payable to Department Of Homeland Security. You are NOT allowed to shorten it. That might be why.

Actually, it's supposed to be made out to "U.S. Department of Homeland Security" as per the I-485 instructions.
