ICE arrests 84 illegal immigrants in Dallas area

Associated Press

Dec. 19, 2008, 7:53PM

DALLAS — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested 84 illegal immigrants in the Dallas area this week.

The arrests came after a five-day operation in 18 different cities that ended Thursday, according to an agency news release. Sixty-four of the people arrested had final deportation orders and the remaining 20 were immigration violators that agents encountered during the operation, the release said.

Four of the people arrested had either outstanding warrants for their arrests or previous criminal convictions, the agency said.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

No sh!t. All that people have been trying to say all along about the enforcement point of view.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Soft on illegal immigration? Why are you here on VJ then? Just spill over the border and call it good.

Edit to add: This is a philosophical question, not aimed at anyone in particular.

84 down

20 million to go.

Those 84 most will be back in Dallas area in less than 2 weeks.

The cities I live in, they have safe houses that harbor illegals and get them ready to work and live in USA.

I do have a solution to Illegal Aliens in USA.

Any business found working / using Illegal Aliens, they will have their business licesnes revoked, and fined $50,000.

Easy Solution, but the US Govt. really doesn't want to stop Illegals in USA.

If you try to enter USA via airplane and your an illegal it a problem. but if you want to cross a border on foot or by vehicle then they (USA Govt.) seem to look and let it slide.....
