When should I start to worry?

I've been watching the Vermont approvals like a hawk... at first I was happy to see the approvals creeping closer to my application date, but then I was overtaken and now I'm the oldest unapproved December application on the list! I check my online status every day but it hasn't budged from 'your case was received on Jan 3rd'... and now somebody who applied on January 31st has already been approved?! When do I start to worry about it? (of course I'm worried about it already, but I'm not sure whether it's justified or just my over-anxiety...)

STAGE 3 - Lifting Conditions. Filing (19 Dec 2007) to Approval (December 11 2008)

there are still applications from October and November outstanding as well as others from December. They are still working on December applications even though they also appear to have started on January's. I wouldn't worry yet. Some of the recent approvals from Vermont have taken 13 to 15 months, although 11 to 12 months seem usual. You are still in the Ball Park. Hope you hear very, very soon that you have been approved.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

We filed through VSC, just had my biometrics done as well.. Looks like we in for a bit of a wait before we can start getting worried. Although this time next year I could very well be on here asking the very same question as Kajikit! lol

Good luck, I hope you get your card soon!

I am waiting too, not too concerned yet. Waiting since December 18th last year, will not start to worry until next year. Patience is a learned virtue in the USCIS process. :)

Kajikit,

my dates are very close to yours (extension letter expires on January 18th 2009) and I worry very much. I don't count on getting my new GC on time at all, I check infopass dates every day trying to get an appointment right before X-mas. I would be very surprised if I got my GC before then.

It sux :(((

I can't believe what I'm reading. Those filing at VSC for removal of conditions from December of 2007 are still waiting for approval. I would say it's time to write congressmen about getting involved in the VSC processing.

We filed for my wife's permanent green card (10 year card) on April 25, 2008 at CSC. She received her permanent green card about the end of September.

Something is definitely wrong with VSC.

Even though I don't anticipate as long of a wait as you poor VSC people, I know the feeling of being overtaken and starting to worry.

CSC has started approving people all the way into August now and I filed early July and also haven't heard anything. I try very hard not to panic and just quietly wait my turn... not always easy. I had to wait a while for name check clearing during AOS, too, so I guess that's probably why.

Sending good vibes your way!!!

We didn't have a lot of documentation either... so I'm half exepcting an RFE (though we did send in everything on the birth of our daughter).

I was very worried about our documentation because we live a very quiet life and we didn't send any affidavits... but I needn't have been concerned - the website says I was approved on December 11th. So I can quit worrying about it now. Good thing too - much longer and I'd have run out of fingernails entirely. :P

Here's hoping that all the rest of the December crowd can get approved in time too - they seem to be TRYING to get it done in the 12 months, but at this rate they're going to need to hire more staff! Approvals were flying thick and fast until they got to all the TSC transfers and it slowed down to a crawl...
