Hi everyone............

I was wondering if anyone else had gotten an RFE during the AOS interview and how long did it take to get your green card after submitting the info requested? We had our AOS interview in Houston Tx on the 23rd of june 08 but they said I needed a small pox vaccine, so they gave me a RFE which had to be sent back within 30 days. At the interview they took my I-94. Anyway, we sent in the RFE on july 15, 08 but we still have not heard from them. Any ideas?

When I check my case status it only has the feb 11 reciept date for when I sent in my I-485, nothing more recent. Anyone know who I can call to get more current info, like if they confirm receipt of the RFE sent back to them on the 15th of july. Thanks, Dave and Diep

My friend had same problem. Their RFE got processed very fast though, not even a week and they were able to see changes online. You should call USCIS and make sure they received it. Also INFOPASS advise from poster above will help too.

Good luck.

I'm having a problem too. I did make an infopass appointment and they couldn't really tell me anything. They said they haven't gotten back to my case yet and it could take up to a year before my green card comes.

Mine was a medical problem too- long story short- the Doctors office made an error in my report- when I went for my K3 interview, the consulate got a hold of the Doctors office which they fixed and faxed to the Consulate.

When I got to the AOS interview in New Orleans- they had both the fixed copy and the copy that had the error.

I went for another medical- just the basic exam part and dropped it off at USCIS.

We had our AOS interview in Houston on Aug 11th. My husband was also given a RFE. The officer said he needed to get the varicella (chickenpox) shot. I mailed the envelope today along with a copy of the RFE letter. So, hopefully we will hear something soon. It scares me that ya'll have not heard anything yet since we both went through Houston and got RFE for medical reasons.

hi.. i got an rfe during the AOS interview. i was asked to submit an updated copy of I-693a since i haven't completed all the shots during that time. i was supposed to submit the rfe in 30 days (after the interview) but since the shots (forgot which ones) required a certain time interval, i asked the IO to extend the deadline so i was given 4 more months to complete the shots. luckily, i didn't have to wait that long so after a month, i sent the rfe to the local USCIS (st. louis, mo). after 3 weeks, finally got an email that my GC was in production :) before i got the email, i was also checking if there's any changes on my status. nothing about them receiving the RFE.

anyways, just be patient on this one.. :)

Wow...this is funny. My husband and I also had our interview on the same day in Houston. We were also given an RFE, which we submitted right away...and still nothing. As I was informed, local offices don't normally update the case status online when they receive your rfe. As long as you have some sort of confirmation, that it was received by the office you should be fine.

I'm in the same boat as you, and its driving me nuts. I've actually stopped checking my case status online, because seeing the same unchanged message day after day was really getting to me. The only thing I would advise you to do is schedule an infopass. Do you remember the name of the IO that interviewed you?

Hi everyone ! Thank you all for your advice and sorry for everyone is in the same boat as me . I called USCIS yesterday and the lady told me that I need to call them again after the exactly 60 days I sent my RFE . By the way I didnot pay attention about the name of the IO . Good luck to everyone else who got the same problems like I did . Dave and Diep

We received a rfe (back in 2006) for our AOS interview and on our rfe letter (a continuance letter) it said the officer's name. Did you keep a copy of the continuance?

It was over a month before we received word of the approval and 2 months before we received his card.
