5 months today since we sent our app. I guess that's smack dab in the middle of the 4-6 months they say...

I think I'm going to do like Candy and just give up all hope... or make a hobby of writing senators....

Hi guys, sorry for the absence but trying to get paperwork together and my man came over for the Christmas holidays so was enjoying being with him again.

I have a question though, if someone can please help. We are filling in the I-134 and he has noticed that his life insurance doesnt cover the amount of the mortgage on the house. This is an oversight on his behalf, but the problem is, do we fill out the I-134 with this amount, or wait until he has got life insurance for the full amount of the mortgage? (which he is going to do anyway) If we decide to wait for the later option its going to delay getting the paperwork back to the embassy.

Any ideas please?

I dont think it really matters if your life insurance covers the value of the property or not. Ultimately, the property is still of value, so even it life insurance doesnt cover it, it should still be able to be sold. I think the life insurance question is really related to if your policy has a cash value (ie not term life insurance). It can be considered another asset in that case. Generally speaking, he shouldnt be able to get a loan on the house unless it appraised (Yeah, I know, the housing market has crashed, but this form hasnt changed since before the crash), so the value of the house should be greater than the mortgage. Generally speaking, people must put 10% or more down, so it also can be considered as an asset.

Woohoo to all's approvals today, the best bit about that is that there is quite a few vermont ones starting to service, looks like they got over their Thanksgiving hangovers finally......

I already had my Ring, he propsed to me last time I was in DC. Very sweet. I think I can find a pic around here somewhere... Hmmm apparently I don't I'll take a pic after I get back from a walk and post it up.

We went shopping and brought our wedding bands though, I got a gold band with 5 diamonds set into it, his is a matt finished 2 toned (3 stripes, light on the outside and dark on the inside) Titanium band, it was also a 1/4 of the price of mine lol. These I have pic's off see attached

As for Xmas, we chose to go to the city for a week which was spectacular just to be alone and together, and he gave me a new back pack for my laptop (to make it easier to get it home hehe) and a computer game (spore, so cute) to keep me entertained instead of missing him.

I got him a Walliabies rugby jersey so that he has something Australian....other then a wife to be lol.

He gets home (lands in DC) in just over 2 hours now, hopefully he will call when he lands, just so I know he is safe. It will take him an hour to get home, seriously hopping that he trips over our NOA2 (and doesn't hurt himself lol) as that would top off an awesome vacation with a great piece of news.
