I don't know about you but I don't buy the whole act that these three women are his girlfriends. Well, maybe the one that looks like a made up old lady. But every time I put this show on they treat him like a "boss" more than a boyfriend. And every time they kiss it looks like they're afraid to put his lips on his. Hugh Hefner's girlfriend gave him a chocolate mold of her butt for his birthday.

The 82-year-old Playboy magazine mogul, who has three live-in lovers, was thrilled to receive the elaborate "chocolate starfish" from girlfriend Kendra Wilkinson.

She said: "We gave him chocolate body parts. We moulded our body parts and gave it to him, and he ate them all.

"I moulded my [butt], so I could call it 'chocolate starfish'. It was white chocolate, and I put a dark chocolate little thing right in the middle."

Kendra - who lives in the Playboy mansion with Hugh's other lovers Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt - also revealed Pamela Anderson performing a naked birthday dance was the ideal gift for Hugh.

She explained: "I think it was the perfect surprise for him. Come on, Pamela Anderson, walking out with a cake naked ... what can get better than that?"

Holly added to Us Weekly magazine: "I felt like I shouldn't look because I know her, and she walked out naked! So I was, like, looking around, trying not to look there!"

It's an image more than anything. Hugh Hefner is supposed to be "the man every other man wants to be" so even though he's at the age where most men are content to spend time with their wives, enjoy retirement and play with their grandkids (and maybe even great-grandkids), he still needs to uphold the ideal that he can get "any woman he wants."

Realistically, we all know that's #######. But it sends a subtle message to men saying, "If this 82 year-old man can get good looking women, so can you!" Naturally, what Hef and the entire Playboy enterprise is hoping men across the world forget is that he's extremely famous and wealthy, not to mention that he can literally make careers for some women. So if you're a 20-something year-old woman with a hot body and you're willing to be pawed at by someone the age of your grandfather or great-grandfather for a little while if it means potential stardom, then perhaps it's worthwhile to you. Otherwise, how many young women do you see with "normal" old men?

Besides... it's probably not all that bad for Hef's three "girlfriends." If they do have sex with him, how often do you think that really occurs? Even with medication like viagra or cialis, he can only get so many pills per month per prescription and assuming the drugs work perfectly, at 82 years of age, his body may not be up to the task all too regularly. So in effect, they get the "run-of-the-mansion" and the status of being Hef's "girlfriends" without having to do very much. Things could probably be worse, overall.

Hugh Hefner is supposed to be "the man every other man wants to be" so even though he's at the age where most men are content to spend time with their wives, enjoy retirement and play with their grandkids (and maybe even great-grandkids), he still needs to uphold the ideal that he can get "any woman he wants."

Men are crazy if they really one to be like an old raisin, plus he wasn't good looking even when he was younger. And what's with the freaking robe and PJs all the time? I know it's an image thing but I think even sweatpants would be better. I only wear my PJs days at a time when I'm sick.

You're missing the point. Yes, he's old and not too terribly good looking, but the reason he has such a positive image in most mens' minds is because he not only created a magazine dedicated to beautiful women exposing themselves that he can earn a living from, but he's managed to surround himself with really good looking women from all over the world for over half a century.

I doubt very many men would want to be as old as Hefner today, but it's a sure bet that the majority wouldn't mind taking over for him or being an "understudy" of some sorts. Regardless, it's the position he has that many men covet; not he himself.

I'm not sure that he's an admired or even envied figure nowadays--he's basically a joke, and I think he's capitalizing on that. He gets a lot of attention being a comically shriveled old guy in a bathrobe surrounded by hot chicks who are paid to be there. I would have agreed your assessment 20 years ago--he looked pretty good when he was in his 60s, and I think he was genuinely envied by a lot of men then--but now the thought of him attempting to cavort with these young things isn't just weird but kinda makes you wince.

I think he's just continuing with his decidedly effective self-promotion, but in a rather odd direction.
