Superstitious? Then exorcise those demons & lose yer lunch for a good cause!

If you usually go out for lunch during the week, take a day off this Friday. Set aside some left-overs Thursday night. Pack a lunch. Fast. Whatever you would have spent that day filling your face at lunchtime, donate to a charity of your choice.

If you don't eat out, then forgo your morning coffee run. Donate that amount instead.

If you don't drink coffee, then just donate some cold hard cash anyway. Jeez. Get with the program, people!

Yeah, yeah, times are hard, and have you seen the price of gas/eggs/milk/immigration lately..? Sure. None of us are millionaires (except mawilson. But his interest rates are an arm & a leg. Literally). But there's someone worse off than you right now (like Master Troll, who is short).

Anyway, let's see whether this community can do some good this Friday. If you wish to contribute anonymously, fine. And thank you. If you want to let others know that you're taking part, and for which charity, my thanks to you too.

everybody should be smart like hubby and i who bring our own food to work everyday. I bet together we save 1,000 minimun a year by doing that.

:yes: I brought a little piece of leftover chicken and some rice and peas for lunch... Hubster gets a free school lunch, and can't bring his own because the teachers have to eat with the children. He complains all the time that I get the good leftovers, but at least his lunch is free.

Jesus, I see people heading out everyday and I just can't imagine how much they spend....and we aren't talking Podunk, Idaho prices around here....

Both bring lunch & some snack (fruit, etc) - either left over or sandwich. Once in a while we go out to eat - no more than once or twice a month.

yeah at hubby's old job the guys would either go out to eat or grab something from the lunch truck... but I would send a lunch along with hubby.. usually leftovers from the night before... he said most of the guys were a little jealous ..lol .. I know we save a lot of money by him bringing a lunch...

i always bring my lunch and eat here, unless my office hubby(best friend to both me and Edi) takes me to lunch, then he or the company pays :)
