Hi, all:

This morning my hubby and I went to the interview in Louisville, KY, and my AOS was approved! Thank you for answering my questions in the process of applying for AOS and sharing your experiences!!

Here's my experience :)

As we arrived at the office, I submitted my NOA and passport at the window, and we were told to sit down and wait.

An officer called my hubby's name at 8 a.m. sharp according to my appointment, leaving me in the waiting area. I got a bit nervous being separated from him, but I saw it happened to a man and his wife sitting next to me, and he told me that she also applied for AOS from F1 visa, so I assumed that it's a standard procedure in this office. After 15 minutes or so, my hubby came back to me with an OK hand sign, and the officer called me in.

Here are a list of questions I received and a list of documents I submitted during the interview.

After taking an oath, the officer asked me:

-Why I had two I-94s

-How and where I met my hubby

-If we had lived together before marriage

-What he does

-How long I have been in US

-What I study

-If I have worked in my professional field

-If I have taken him to my home country

-If I had any family living in US

-In what city we married, what kind of wedding it was, who and how many attended our wedding

-If his parents lived in the city where we had our wedding

-What we did last weekend

I brought with me a replica of my whole application packet, original documents whose photocopies I included in the application packet, original and photocopies of support documents, and our wedding photo album. The officer asked me to show him any support documents to show my hubby and I lived together, and I handed to him the following support document packet I made in advance:

-Hubby's updated employment letter (original)

-My updated university enrollment letter (original)

-Hubby's pay stubs for the last 2 months (photocopy)

-2005 joint tax return related forms (photocopy)

-A joint bank statement top page (photocopy)

-Hubby's retirement beneficiary designation form on which my name appears as principle beneficiary (photocopy)

-My car insurance estimate on which hubby's name appears as another driver (photocopy)

-Two envelopes addressed to both of us from our friends (photocopy)

The officer took it, flipped through it, and asked for neither original documents nor any other documents. So I asked if he wanted to see our wedding photo album. He said yes, flipped through it, returned it to me, and asked me no question.

He told me that he approved my case and requested my card online in front of me (Yey!) Then he took my I-94s and EAD, returned my passport (and my social security card and my hubby's business card that I had forgotten I kept in my passport cover), gave me a note and explanation for how and when to remove my conditional status, and asked me to sign the note that I received the note and explanation. Also he stamped on my passport and explained that it would work just like green card for next 3 months just in case I wanted to work or travel outside US before I get my card in my hands.

That's it!

After the interview, my hubby and I found out from each other that we were asked pretty much the same questions and the officer matched our answers.

Hope this helps someone. Good luck to all (F)

Thanks!

Oh, I forgot to mention that the officer went over the list of questions about illegal and undesirable (?) activities included in AOS application with me again during the interview.
