There is a BBQ restaurant here in Houston that used to give $2 bills, Kennedy 50 cent coins, and Eisenhower $1 coins in change as a gimmick. I thought it was kind of cute.

All these odd-ball denominations of money never really caught on with the general public. I still have a stack of crisp new $2 bills from the BBQ restaurant.

Are you talking about The Mucky Duck? I've got one from there!

then another weird dude, dunno why... left a silver $1 dollar coin, which i have it at home, it looks really cool.. and some guys when they come from NY they drop $1 dollar normal coins too..

and the funniest thing.. lawl.. I dunno why people here accept Canadian quarters as US quarters.. they have no idea that they aren't worth the same.. but oh well

the $2 bill s still legal tender and in circulation.

what's not are the $500, $1000, $5000, and $10,000 dollar bills!!!! a $5000 bill has sold for almost $70,000. my sister used to work at an armored car service and they handled the money for NJ mass transit and PENN station ... she once saw a $500 come through. they were allowed to purchase them on the dollar! she was young at the time and didn't have it! too bad though!

Printing $2.00 bills is another government waste as is them trying to force a dollar coin on people.

Funny... $2 bills/coins and dollar coins work just fine in plenty of other countries... just americans like their one dollar bills i guess.. makes em feel richer ;)

$2 dollar bills in the US are still in circulation.

"It is still a common perception that the $2 bill is rare, and when the general public encounters them, the bills are frequently hoarded and not circulated. According to the Treasury, they "receive many letters asking why the $2 bill is no longer in circulation." [1]. In response, the Treasury states: "The $2 bill remains one of our circulating currency denominations. According to BEP statistics, 590,720,000 Series 1976 $2 bills were printed and as of February 28, 1999, there was $1,166,091,458 worth of $2 bills in circulation worldwide.""

That was funny and absurd at the same time. :P

In Brasil 2 real bills are common, so I guess I wouldn´t think anything about a 2 dollar bill.
