Does calling card cause a problem

As my fiance is just a few days filing for the K1. I am looking ahead at the other evidence we have. Our main communication is by phone using calling cards. We havent really used the pc for communication because its easier on my OH. She dosent get the time to talk on the pc as she works 6 days a week and has her kids to look after. She mainly uses calling cards and so do i. We do call each other everyday, mayb 3-4 times a day. Does anyone know if these calling cards cause a problem or not ? Im not sure if they can send proof of the phone number you have called.

Thanks

I don't see that as being an issue. I would just include a note stating what the calling card number was used for. I am sure the USCIS will understand and have probably seen already similar cases.

We do have othe evidence eg - emails, MSN chat logs but there mainly from before xmas. Its just easier to use calling cards rather than having a 1 hour convo on a pc which could be said in 10-15 mins on the phone.

Are there ever text messages sent that might show up on a cell phone bill?

Does your fiance receive her cell phone bill with the detail of the numbers she dialed and the numbers of the phone she received the calls from? If not, it would be a good idea to ask her cell phone/phone company if they can give her those records. That is the only way to prove you communicate by phone. . The calling cards themselves do not prove anything, they just prove that you made international phone calls, but can't prove who the recipient of those calls was.

You do not need phone bills for the USCIS. You'll need them for the interview, if you want to have more documents to prove on going relationship, you should send a few letters or cards through the regular mail in the mean time, by the time you got your interview scheduled you'll have something else to bring :)

eric_and_teresa is correct. Cards and letters showing the postmark is the best evidence.

We never used the pc to communicate, either. What I ended up doing is I put international service on my home phone and made an average of 3 calls per month so it would show up on my bill, which I made copies of faithfully every month and sent to my SO. The first interview they did not ask to see proof of anything, but the second interview all the CO was interested in was the phone bills.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I am not sure about that but I bet its better to be safe rather then sorry...I have found a really good calling service that you can recharge when you run out of minutes and it shows EVERY call you make and to where and you can print it out every month to show that you talk....its pretty cheap for me to call Dominicain Republic so I would imagine its cheap to call Euorpe! Let me know if you want more information on it!

Yeppers - Teresa almost put a serious dent in the Amazonian rainforests printing her pingo data out. Pingo is good because both parties can use it

Don't do an overkill - take a few of these and any other proof like emails and actual letters or cards (e.g. Xmas etc) - My fiance took about 5 emails and 5 letters, nothing more and they looked at one of them for about 3 seconds. Good Luck

I wouldn't sweat it. As long as you have other evidence (Photos, plane tickets, western union receipts) you should be fine. I talk to my little lady via MSN webcam, so there are no chat logs or other info. And when I do talk on the phone I tend to use calling cards. But I'm not concered. I've got 5 years of photos (just going to submit 1 from each trip), ticket stubs, and other stuff.

It will only be a problem if something else makes them suspect the relationship is a scam. And if that happens they will request you provide more proof and give you a chance to do so after the interview.

We have used tel3advantage.com for past few years. It's like a calling card, without the actual card. We can both use the same account and find local access numbers in our area. We prepay the account online or by phone and each call it lets us know how much money we have left. We've programmed numbers in so that we can call our local access number and then speed dial each other's number from there. For her to call me, it cost 1.9 cent a min and for me to call her it is 2.9 cent a min. Of course, the rates differ in different countries. Anyways, it keeps up with every call made so that we were able to print out the last two years of calls from our account. Might be something to check out. It's taken alot of headache out of trying to find good calling cards.
