Ok as being in a hurry to beat the fee increases of last July we decided to submit AOS without any mention of form I-693 or medical history etc.

Well Rose have received her Welcome to United States letter in mail.

Prior to receiving the K fiance visa, she had her physical and chest xray, but there were no shots given or review of medical history. The mistery packet surrendered at POE must have sufficed.

So for all you working on AOS read the pinned post at the top of this forum.

I don't think it is wise for you to advice that it is not necessary to include the I-693A...first, because it is clearly indicated that you have to include it on the AOS instructions. Second, many people have had problems with the medical and even had to have a second medical before getting approved.

This might be your case, but telling other people to do the same...I say no.

Congratulations on getting your AOS approved

We didn't submit the I-693a with the AOS application but it was one of the first things asked for at the AOS interview.

OP, please fill in your timeline.

It is also possible your vaccinations were up to date and included in the package you submitted at the POE.

I'm not telling other filers not to include it. If we had all shot records in hand I surely would include it in the AOS. Main reason for not mentioning was because from where Rose is from shots vaccinations are in state records, and would be nearly impossible to acquire. Also had we hurrily gotten vaccinations, we'd not only be out of $1000, but also extended beyond the 90days visa period maybe by a few weeks.

Then again I can't remember if AOS instructions indicated a vaccination supplement or not. But anyway I read that the most of AOS filers RFEs were due to that I-693A form or need for the original.

I'd give thanks that it didn't pose a problem thus far.

I submitted AOS in late June 2007 and haven't kept current of changes if any since that time.

Ken, I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I just want people who are considering following your advice to have all the information, as not including the vaccination records could easily cause an RFE.

USCIS - Instructions for completing I-485

8. Fiancé(e)s.

If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had amedical examination within the past year as required forthe nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submita vaccination supplement, not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment of status application.

If you didn't intend to advise people that they don't need to include the I-693a, maybe you should have chose a different title for your topic.

Some people are getting away with not submitting the form, others are getting an RFE for it.

Considering the fact that getting the I-693a filled out is really not a big deal everybody should be strongly advised to submit the form in their application.

I think we should all remember who we're dealing with here.

On the one hand, there is an Entity, called USCIS, which has procedures, and instructions, and memos, and we send things off to USCIS.

On the other hand, there is a person, a human being, who is going to go through YOUR file and make A DECISION based on what he/she sees/

That person is not USCIS, he/she is working for USCIS. He/she has read some or all of USCIS's procedures and instructions, and has their own understanding of what is required from you. Your person might want an I-693A, or not want one, depending on a whole variety of issues. It might not be fair, but its the way it is

In summary: It is not correct to say that "IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO INCLUDE FORM I-693A IN THE AOS SUBMISSION"

It might be correct that your person didn't mind you not including one, but there have been enough RFE's on this subject for it to be sage advice for all AOS submissors TO INCLUDE FORM I-693A IN THE AOS SUBMISSION

i had the medicalexam in Morocco on july 2007.i got the two shots, they took some of the blood,i did the chest xrays, everything, but i didnt get any copy or record, they didnt tel me and at that time i didnt know that i have to get a copy,record... so last March we filed the AOS without the I-693 ,i just wrote a letter to whom it may concern saying that i didnt get any medical exam copy or anything and that the medical stuffs are in the envolop i gave in JFK.i dont know why they ask about the medical record or that I-693 if we already had exams before the interview and they gave us the visa,if something wrong with the shots or blood or the whole body, they wouldnt gave the visa,i think.

Vaccinations aren't required for K visas but they are required to adjust status. You can submit the I-693a with the I-485 or bring it to the interview but it would be a huge oversight to have AOS approved without an I-693a in the file.

It's a huge risk NOT to include the I-693A and I'd rather be safe than sorry. We included it with our AOS packet, and come on, it only cost $25 and the gas it took us to drive 15 miles to get the form from the doctor.

For those embassies that require K-1's to be vaccinated prior, how would that affect filing for AOS?

Thats how I feel. Or shouldn't be a requirement from countries where their citizens are required to have vaccinations. I'd say that if you are of adult age and had passed the medical for visa approval, then there mustn't be anything wrong in that regard.

I didn't say Not to include Form I-693a, but rather its not necessary (in case of K-visa holders) to submit with AOS (unless you know you have all 100% the paperwork). I feel that also if needed they would simply send RFE and that would tack on another 10 weeks or so to processing.

What I'm saying is that the majority of RFEs having to do with I-693a is for the original I-693... at least thats what it seem to been in the past.

If you have your vaccination record go on and have it transferred to I-693a. Otherwise don't scramble to have vaccinations done (if you don't have the record), I'd just sit and wait if they RFE or not.

so if there is a chance there COULD be an RFE as you just said....you would be incorrect in saying it isn't necessary to send the I-693A with your AOS application. -_-
