Good Morning to all:

This morning when I checked my PO Box I found NOA2. Aproval time Valid from4/3/2008 to 8/3/2008/ The notice indicate that my petition was send to the Deparment of State National Visa Center in NH. The NVC processing should be complete with two to four weeks after receiving the petition from USCIS. I SHOULD receive notification by mail when NVC has sent my petition to the Section of US interest in la Havana.

I am very happy that I already received NOA 2 and the process continues. I called my fiance in Cuba and she could not even breath when I told her the good news.

Now I need all the advice from the oldtimer in how to proceed with the next steps.

I am really happy and hopes that the case keep moving in the fast track.

Please, let me know what should I do next.

Jordin

Great, congrats....

I suggest to call the U.S interest section in Havana in about 2-3 weeks (011 53 32 7 8333551) to check to see they received your case and/or to schedule the appointment for you fiancé to pick up the package for the interview. You can also download those forms too. At the same time, they will give you an 800 number for you to call to set up an interview appointment. To set up the interview appointment, your fiancé needs to have a passport number, if she does not have a passport, she needs to go to the office of immigration in with 2 passaport styles fotos. and pay 150cuc for the passaport. The process to takes 1 day, but on a very long line. Congrats again. Edwin

The first step goes faster for Cubans because the "embassy" in Havana is so backed up you will have to wait 4-6 months for an interview appointment and after that, the person has to do lots more paperwork and tests to get an exit visa from Cuba. (rumors that this may change, but who knows?). Seems to take about a month - 6 weeks.

Don't listen to folks who give advice unless their fiancee is also out of Cuba. It is slightly different after the NVC part.

Edwin is correct.

Now you can call NVC every so often, (with your # from the NOA paper) to check. They will let you know once your paperwork has been sent off to Havana.

Then, you get an 800#, pay $11 to get into the appointment making system. Make an appointment for your fiancee. Call every so often...you will have to wait several months, so get calling!

Sometimes they will be contacted to come pick up a packet (perhaps if living in Havana?) sometimes they will not.

The packet has forms that are available on the web (see my old posts, some in spanish). It also has an appointment letter (with out a specific date, but need to bring with you), instructions for where to get the medical for the US, etc.

Please read past forum entries...this has been gone over.

(You can go to my page, and all the "friends" there have cuban fiancees. You can look at them and their posts.)

Congrats and good luck!

Also, I thought the passport was only $55, but I could be wrong.
