Another one for Detroit!

Well, after getting lost going to the wrong address thanks to Mapquest (Mount Elliott not Eliot St!), and a frantic call to the USCIS misinformation line for directions to the actual USCIS office in Detroit, we made it just on time for our interview.. Hubby had to do some work for his company in Detroit today, so we were in a company vehicle.. We got to the parking lot on time, but were told that they weren't allowed to let in commercial vehicles.. Doh.. but the Security guard was nice and let us in anyways after he checked the contents of the van.. On to the waiting room..

We went in through the doors.. showed her the interview appt letter, and were told to go through the metal detector.. she looked in my purse (the security guard did) and told me to put my letter in the box at the back of the room.. I did.. then we sat down to wait.. Toy Story was playing so that was fun.. kept us occupied while we were waiting, which wasn't very long.. Our appointment was at 11:45 and we were going in by just before noon..

I was a little nervous.. He told us to stay standing because we had to be sworn in.. and we were.. and we sat down. Our interviewing officer was very nice retired navy guy.. told us to sit down and relax! (which was a little hard but anyways). He then proceeded to ask if we lived at the same address, and if my entry date was correct, which it all was.. and that our marriage date was within the 90 days. He asked my husband if he was Michael, which hubby replied that he was.. Then he asked all the "questions", and asked about the vaccination supplement.. I had just sent in the one that I got at my K-1 Medical, and he said it was ok, but I dont think he liked that.. Didn't ask too much.. Asked what my occupation was.. I said nothing.. so he put homemaker... and also didn't ask for ANY of the papers I had brought.. or photos or anything.. Said I was approved, and that I'd be getting my green card in 4 - 6 weeks! :dance: I asked for a stamp, which he did give to me.. and that was basically it! Very easy. We were out in less than half an hour from when we came in. Now I can work and go to Canada!
