So I filed for our K1 and got the letter notifying that they received our petition. So now what do I do? How long did you guys have to wait before getting any updates? And...were you supposed to send the support stuff too...I did because I wasn't sure and i didn't want to leave anything out

The evidence of support will be required at the interview stage. All you have to do now is to lean back and relax until you get NOA2. Best of luck!

Well you pretty much wait. And wait. And wait.

Some people have luck and get through rather quickly. Other's wait up to and past the limits they post online. Continue gathering info to support ongoing relationship. Telephone logs, tickets from visits, pictures together, emails and chat logs. That kind of thing. Good Luck and welcome to VJ.

Welcome to VJ and good luck with your journey, we sent more than we should too but ours was approved fast so maybe it helped i dont know. Good Luck for a speedy approval.

If by 'support stuff' you mean evidence to provide proof of your relationship then yes, you were supposed to include it. If you mean the affidavit of support then that's not required until the interview, but it probably won't do any harm.

Since you filed at California you have quite a wait ahead of you; I wouldn't expect to hear anything for at least 4 months. You might like to post in the March filers thread - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=114732 I'm afraid there's not much to do now except to maybe post and moan along with the rest of us!

You are at the beginning of your journey. I hope that you are going to have a safe one. Waiting could be 3 months or it could be 6. It is hard to say really how long it will take. All we can say is stay strong and if you have questions or concerns please feel welcome here at Visa Journey.

Your fiance(e) should get his/her passport if s/he doens't already have it, as well as get up-to-date on all vaccines.

What I suggest you do now is study the step by step guides and follow your fellow K1 filers through the process by reading a lot of posts in this thread. Pay special attention to those ahead of you in the process and learn from their problems, mistakes and successes. Become a good student of the process so you'll be able to help prepare your fiance(e) for the interview and onward. That's the success formula I've seen work best.

You filed with CSC, so your wait will be longer, but pushbrk is right...use this site as an educational tool...learn from others' successes and failures, get to know your fellow filers. It does help the process when you know you're not alone!
