But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

maviwaro, I agree that Americans are often pretty ignorant, especially when it comes to acknowledging...other countries existing, and that racial issues are sensitive and so lots of toes are stepped on lots of times, but I think most of the comments that could be considered racial slurs or oversimplifications of race ("Oh you're Mexican") here in this thread have probably been meant to be...ironic, you know? Like not truly ignorant in the obnoxious way, but mimicking a Bubba.

I certainly wasn't actually seriously saying Mexicans are good for tacos and salsa and Canadians should be blown up, anyway :( Totally serious that Florida's useless though...

Think you got a valid point on Mexicans being singled out as the illegal immigrants, but I bet that changes depending on where you are. I mean probably people complaining in Florida complain about the Cubans. I would think statistically there WOULD be a significant number more Mexicans than any other race here illegally though, just because of the big border.

Something is just wrong with Mexico. Canada do Okay. I don't see any news reports that emphasize how they need to increase the barrier at the border. Most news anyway report primarily on the Mexican border.

As far as Florida is concerned, I remembered they used a MP to extract a small child away from his parents along time ago. I think the picture was on time magazine showing the MP with a large machine gun raiding the house of the family to get the kid. I'm surprised nobody brought this topic up yet.

agree & disagree w/ you dean. economics is #1 right now. but, with the US economy "slowing" & more & more people out of work. i think illegal immigration & illegals working jobs Americans can & will do is going to be a much bigger issue in the near future.

I think the simple solution for illegals .. those without papers or those that didn't leave when they were supposed to.

A lifetime ban with no possibility of waviers if the act was commited as an adult. We have laws and if they don't rspect them we don't need them here.

Au contraire mon frere.Just recently on the NBC nightly news I saw about how some illegal immigrants who would have come to the USA,are going to Canada instead because the benefits are better.

Are you talking about Elian Gonzalez ?

All political inferences aside, any illegal aliens should be deported.

All illegal aliens, irrespective of origin, should be deported...

Do your f'ing homework and apply like everyone else here at VJ.

Why do so many people have a problem with this concept?

Most of those Cubans are 2nd and 3rd generation descendants of those who escaped Batista's overthrow.Or they're realted to those who came in the Mariel Boat lift,so they're basically just American.

Yes, Elian Gonzalez. What ever happened to that story. I meant, any follow up on the case.

Only that he's like a national hero in Cuba right now.Castro throws parades and celebrates the day,and he remembers nothing at all.
