Wife Emailed 3032

We opted to try the email shortcut for assigning the agent (3032). My wife sent an email last Thursday but did not get an automated reply as far as I can tell. My wife's English is so-so and she relies on her son for computer related things like email.

But they checked and it seems the email was sent out OK. I called the NVC automated line today (Tuesday) and no updated message. How long should it take for the NVC to update the message that the 3032 was received? Should I call the NVC operator line and ask if they got the email?

Thanks!

the automated response comes with in minutes and if you dont receive one then you have not put the email address in properly(it is very sensitive, my husband had to try 4 times to get the automated responce). It takes at minimum 2 weeks to get a reply for anything from NVC.

I see...well I've read other posters who said they did not get an automated reply but did hear from NVC 2 weeks later. I guess I'll ask my wife to send it again but i wonder if I can call the NVC and ask the operator if they received her email?

Advice?

It can take between 2-10 business days for them to approve the choice of agent email. When the beneficiary emails NVC, it is a good idea to copy the petitioner. That way, one would know, if the email went through properly.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Hi,

One option that has been suggested which i used was i had my wife CC the email to me, thus we knew it was sent. The automated reply from NVC was almost immediately. I have sent two emails to the NVC and got the automatic reply almost immediately.

We received an email reply about 7-8 days after. The automated telephone system also updated in about 1 week.

Most persons have reported a two week cycle for almost anything sent to the NVC

Thanks for all the replies. My wife heard from the NVC and her assignment of agent is in the system. It took 8 days to get a reply. Please note my wife did not get an automated reply and yet the message obviously went through. So I'm not sure how important it is to get the automated reply except it is reassuring to see the immediate reply indicating the email was successfully sent.

Not that this has any bearing on the timeline, but could it be that the automated responses are being filtered out of the originator's inbox? It seems strange that an automated response would not be automatically sent to everyone. If you don't get the automated response, you might find one in your bulk folder, if you have one. That could be the answer as to why some people receive the automated response and others do not.

AOS Timeline

4/14/10 - Packet received at Chicago Lockbox at 9:22 AM (Day 1)
