My downstairs neighbor has no respect for myself or the other apartments that adjoin his. He listens to his stereo so loud sometimes my floor literally vibrates. The other night it was until well after 1 am. This was the first Sunday in a long time I took off from work. I wanted to relax but was woke up to this ####### and it's been going on all day. I guess stomping on the floor or slamming doors etc doesn't get the point across. I've already had a talk with him about a month ago and he apologized. It was fine...for a while.

I'm trying to get by until my fiancee is here and we can start seriously looking in to purchasing a home...for the time being, I'm here. So for anyone that has had to deal with similar circumstances, what did you do? This guy is the maintenance supervisor for the complex, so any repairs I need done, he has access to my apartment. I really don't want to rock the boat too much at this point.

I'd contact the owner and just be diplomatic: Im a paying tenant, I realize he's the maintenence bla bla bla ......... Ive tried talking this over with him and bla bla bla.. please speak with him about this bla bla bla

I wouldnt slam doors or anything passive aggressive though.

Good luck

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Ouch! Buy earplugs, sounds glib I know, but it might help. Other than that, if he was receptive to your request the last time, simply repeat it. He may have just allowed himself to slip into a bad habit and unless you repeat your objections he might assume that you don't care anymore.

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

man I can definitely relate to your situation. I posted about this a while ago here but I can't seem to type in the right things to search for my old post. There were a lot of great responses. Anyway, I had awful noisy neighbors and I tried everything. i called the police countless times, I complained to the landlord, I banged on the wall, I yelled through the wall, everything!!! I wish you luck. Personally I'd try talking to him nicely once again...but if that doesn't work I'd call the police if they do it in the middle of the night. And I would also tell the landlord. Although none of those things seemed to really work for me. I hope your solution isn't as bad as mine was!

Talk to your neighbor. Sometimes people don't realize how inconsiderate they are being until someone points it out to them. If that does not work, talk to your landlord. Then, if it still happens, I would call the cops.

I had new neighbors move in about three months ago. Every night around 8 - 10, all kinds of noise from the kids. I tolerated it until 2 weeks ago.

Went next door one night to let them know that I have tolerated it for 3 months but no more. Next night no change, went back over and they would not answer the door, starting kicking the door, no response.

Let the leasing office no the following day, they said they would take care of it. NOT!!

That night same thing, beat the door and they answered. Told them if the noise did not cease immediately, I would call the cops.

No problem since then.........................

Heh, I'm in the same situation, except they don't have any power. We haven't ever met. I tolerate the loud stuff they do during the day, like play music at college-dorm volume and recite the same damn monologue over and over (for auditions?). but last night, they were laughing really, really loudly and playing loud music at 2 a.m. I had a puppy here that was getting scared, and I was exhausted, so I pounded on the wall.

They pounded something on the wall back that shook paint off the ceiling and screamed "Mother fcuker!!" and laughed really loud. I said, "mother fcuker? really?" and I could hear them saying "oh my god, she totally heard us" and they quieted down.

Maybe they listen more if you make it clear you're a vulnerable female. :P

I share walls with two other units. One unit is an old couple, they are so quiet they might as well be dead. But the other unit is a South American family, parents, 3 kids and they have family over all the time over the weekends, who bring over their own kids. It gets very very very noisy! The kids run around all over the place, constantly dropping things! And the father sings in the shower, I can hear him. I'm used to it now though.

Loud R&B and rap with my upstairs neighbors...the bass just drives me crazy...but I asked them to turn it down in the late evening and they were more than happy to oblige...they know I'm a teacher and I get up at 5 AM, so they're good about the noise at night...the daytime, that's another story...

Noise can cause serious mental problems. Depression, anxiety etc. If you are sensitive to it, as most people are, dont live with it if you don't have to. Try and find a brick house aproxamately 1/2 mile from anything with two legs and a banana between the ears. That will be reasonably quiet. Unless of course its a shooting range. They like to put those in places like that. I feel for ya, good luck.
