Have you ever gotten into any arguments with your SO during your visa journey ?

I think some people are probably incredulous due to lack of experience. I've never personally known any couples that have never had arguments, so their existence seems like somewhat of an urban legend. It's just very surprising to many of us, that's all.

Well, for me, I've never met a man who didn't need me to modulate his behavior from time to time.

They're such flawed creatures. :P

man hater! :bonk:

Nah.

You all have one thing I can't live without.

As long as it functions properly, that is.

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

So the non-fighters appear to be liars and propping their relationship up on some pedestal?

LOL, not liars....lucky

A few have suggested those who say no are unbelieveable and you mocked the fact that some don't fight and spun it into something that none of us had actually said. Sarcastic remarks flung in the direction of the ones who stated "no" is pretty obvious, as if those who said no were looking down off at our supposed pedestals at you "fighters".

:D

No, I wasn't mocking you. I was kidding about myself, because I don't think anyone who knows me on VJ would think I would be one of those people capable of a totally harmonious relationship. But it probably came out through the filter of my general bitterness to seem like I was talking about someone else. That really wasn't supposed to be a sarcastic remark about anyone other than myself.

Ah ok - that makes sense now that I go back and read it. Just kinda got lumped up with the other posts I was questioning.

LaaaaaL come baaaaaaack and see my post that I wasn't making fun of yooouuuuuuuuu

I feel bad now

lol - don't feel bad - I was just surprised at some of the reactions and you were the only one who offered a response :luv:

Those are *cute* problems. I don't think arguing over them counts as fighting. :luv:

Agreed... and maybe it's the term "fighting" that needs to be defined. Maybe those that said NO, think it means a huge blow-up where you don't speak to each other for "X" amount of time and so on and so forth. And maybe it does for some. We didn't have any of those, but enough along the lines of "oi, when are you going to send me the paperwork", grumpiness which would turn into snapping at each other (umm, more snapping from me to him... ...he rarely snaps )

Yeah, I really DO think it's part of their Britishness, not liking confrontation. The ONLY time hubster snaps at me is when I've started it. I know that when he gets angry at me it's because I've pushed him too far. He never yells, never rants.... I wish I were more like him....for HIS sake. :(

Exactly. I must say I find it very hard to believe that there was not one cross feeling whatsoever....being a couple is hard work sometimes....add distance, lonliness, time zones, impatience, etc into the mix and I really can't see there not being one emotion of snappiness, grumpiness, etc...

I think also perhaps some ppl are being too literal about 'during your visa journey'...that doesn't mean necc bickering about the visa journey only....

But hey, I'm told I'm wrong, so that's fine....but it's kinda like the two headed alligator that you MUST pull over to see cos it simply doesn't sound natural ;)
