Hello my dearest experts,

I am new to the journey and just beginning our K1 petition. I need to write a letter explaining how and where we met. All I need to know is does Homeland Security want to know the mooshy stuff regarding our dates and/or just how we met and dates we visited eachother?? We need to write a whole page so I'm wondering how to jot it. I know it's a silly question but one that one doesn't know either!

I would be grateful for the knowledge.

Stay blessed.

Our letter fitted neatly in the box provided on question 18 of I-129F. It does not need to be wordy, just the facts.

"Met on a dating site Month/Year, traveled to country Month/Year, engaged Month/year...." nothing complex.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Post the mooshy stuff here, along with pictures, and we can advise you better.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

Haha... No mooshy stuff needed here. Just how and when you met. They will expect you to prove that you were in the same place at the same time. They don't need to know (nor do they care about) whether you call each other "schmoopy" or "honey biscuit".

Also, it doesn't hurt to provide evidence of an ongoing relationship with the package, but again, nothing "mooshy" needed.. For example, I included photocopies of the fronts of cards (and postmarked envelopes), but didn't disclose what was exactly written in the cards.

Good luck!!

I guess USCIS is only interested in the facts. Where, when and how you met and about your ongoing relationship in terms of how you keep in contact, etc. I have to say though, I got a bit carried away and added as well a few things what actually made me fall in love with my SO, e.g. cards, his character, etc. Not sure if it was necessary, but our attorney (who has a very good reputation and has filed loads and loads of petitions before ours) said it was good. Just go with your gut feeling as to what you want to add apart from the obvious facts that need to be included.

You met your fiance, right:? Your passport and ticket (plane) shows it, they want nothing else but proof you've physically met.

Thank you for responding as well as the other helpful party!! Yup I have met my fiance 3 times this year and I have itineraries to prove that though we have one problem. We can't prove that we met in a Yahoo chatroom as neither one of us saved our conversation and also our regular phone contact was done from my place of employment simply because it was free and my better other half used a calling card. Anyone in my position would save as much as they could on phone bills so they could spend all the money being with them instead!! We only just now discovered a service called Vonage so I can have a US based number here in the UK for which we can prove ongoing evidence. How will the USCIS react to our story?!! Please help!!

Thank you all so kindly.

Hiya thank you for your response, it is greatly appreciated  . Though my biggest worry  is what if I don't have the postmarked envelopes for the birthday cards we sent to each other? What if I only have itineraries and photos of us and recent phone records? I used my place of employment to call him (ooops) and he used a call card so we could obviously save money. I explained to my lawyer and he said I wouldn't need to worry as that can be explained.... I really didn't know we had to retain all these little things!! :help: Had we known we would have certainly kept receipts/event tickets etc... how do you think the USCIS will react to our poor evidence??

Thank you thank you and thank you again for your words of knowledge!!!

Hey :) Welcome to VJ!

What they are looking for is stamps in either passport, copies of boarding passes to each others countries, hotel receipts (if you two stayed at one), car rental agreements, etc. All copies of course.

I did throw in 2 photocopies of cards that Nick and I had sent each other as well as the envelope they came in to show it went through US Post.

I sent a couple of emails as well, only because in them we both talked about the visa process and how exciting we were, etc. etc.

Pictures, emails and phone logs are secondary evidence, they don't PROVE that you have met, however they do show there is a relationship. They are needed for the interview but it doesn't hurt to throw a couple of those in there.

Do either of you have stamps in your passport that you can copy and add in the petition? You said itineraries....that proves that you had travel plans but without the boarding passes it doesn't show you actually got on the plane...do you have even one boarding pass? All you have to prove is that you have met once in the last 2 years. If you've had a few visits, just proving one of those visits will suffice.

Have a look at the Guides here at VJ and read up on other pieces of evidence you can submit.

I wish you all the best in your journey!!!

You have been the biggest help to me I am indebted to your kindness and time!!!

Okay I have no boarding pass but I do have my passport stamped so I can photocopy that! Otherwise I have a hotel receipt but one that concludes only in my name.. I bought biscuits and chocolates for my better other half and I have that as a receipt and I even have a receipt of the BK meal I had before boarding back to London...... I also have car rental receipt for my last trip. Is this sufficient??

As long as you have stuff bought in the same area on the same day then that should suffice. Lets say you were together in Niagara, if you have a receipt for dinner and he has one for lunch it shows you are in the same area at the same time. I think some pictures of the 2 of you together would help as well.

I like you are just starting ( or planning to start ) the K1 process and this site is superb for helping.

I have also found a calling number from the uk that only costs 1p a minute to US land and cell phones if that helps with your expenses. It does not show on your phone bill as you calling a specific number but if your other half has phone records that show the times you called are times he was not making calls then you will be fine.

Hello wifetobe!

First thing and foremost you have to gathered all the bonafide valid and strong proof that you meet personally with your fiance for the last 2 years prior applying the KI fiancee aplication prove that you meet already, you have to collect all your evidence and it was good in your picture you and together with friends and family you have to write a caption on that , flight etinerary, boarding passes from all the trips.his passport with stamp from immigration airport enrty and exit.your original birth certificate and him , your e-mails,chat logs ,shots on sreen pictures, letters and cards, his certification from his company and stating his salaries.all of that we did to avoid any refrences from USCIS
