POE Review: Houston
Event Description
Entry Date : 2009-04-14
Embassy Review : Well what can I say! Houston is an extremely friendly airport with great POE officers in my experience. I knew exactly which booth to go to. The officer took my MBE and says 'are you going to live here?' and I said yup! A different officer then took my MBE and led me down to another office where secondary inspection took place. I was sat for 10 or 20 minutes then I was called in by the IO who seemed to be of Somalian descent. The first thing he said to me was 'Were you born in Greece?' in Greek!! I couldn't believe the guy was speaking my native language so I replied in Greek. He asked me a few questions like 'have I ever been arrested or convicted' where does my fiancé work etc. He then said he was pretty concerned for my safety as my OH has a criminal history and said 'I've seen alot of these cases ending up real bad.'. With that he told me I was a very pretty girl and what was I doing with a guy like this! I thought that was a cheek and so I responded 'He is a very beautiful man thank you'. He smiled and then wished me his entire best and said welcome to the US. Told me I had 90 days to get married and then I finished the rest of his sentence... he was impressed with how well informed I was. Thanks to my VJ community
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
