They would not accept the I-864 as a substitute. They also required the originals, signed, and notarized. I got it notarized at a currency exchange for $1. -Be sure to provide copies of your W-2 for that I-134. We married in the USA while she was working here on a J-1 visa. We could have filed for AOS, but we knew she wanted to go home to take classes, visit family, and for a 2nd wedding banquet. We did not know how much time it would take to file the AOS and get Advance Parole, so we decided to go the K-3 route instead. Classes were only 2 months, so in hindsight, it would've been better to do the AOS first. I don't think the AP takes as long as the K-3. | 2011-04-10

Embassy sends everything to applicants by regular mail only. You should stay in contact with your Embassy by email if mail takes a long time for delivery. Stay on top of things, because the Embassy will not!!!!! On the Embassy website it will tell you that the petitioner is not required to be present at the interview, they requested me to be there, so save your self time and go to the interview in the beginning. The interview took 10 minutes, quick and easy, just tell the truth. Some of the document I obtained they never asked for, they will tell you what document they want at the 1st window. To me the hardest part is waiting for your airpak after you have been approved from DHL, this will drive you crazy. | 2008-12-23
