DV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?

    Confused about steps after marriage
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!

I am a US Citizen by birth. My wife and daughter came to the US on a Green Card almost 3 years ago. A year after they came to the US I adopted my stepdaughter and she now has a UT Birth Certificate. I filed an N600 on her over 18months ago, she did have her fingerprints and picture taken about 4 months ago. We applied for her US passport about 3 weeks ago. I just got a letter requesting Proof of Citizenship and a DS-5507 Affidavit of Physical Presence or Residence, Parentage and Support. My question is do I put myself as the 1st biological parent in section 1 or as the other biological parent. I realize I am neither but I am her adoptive father and therefore she as a minor (14) would receive citizenship from me. I can't get an appointment with a lawyer for 3 weeks and I need to get this sent in to get her passport back in time for our trip to Thailand.

    Thanks for your help,

    Dave

Feb 12, 2024: Case status changed to "Case is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS", the estimated time was 8 weeks.

Apr 09, 2024: myProgress tab changed "Case Taking longer to process ..."

May 02, 2024: myProgress tab changed to "Estimated Time Until Decision: 4 Weeks"

    ...

    Thanks,

I have received a letter from US state department saying that my petition for I-129F has been approved and I was provided with Montreal Case number.

I'm having a hard time understanding if NOW I need to do something (schedule interview, medical etc) or I need to wait to be contacted by the Montreal consulate in regards the next steps, and whether or now I should go ahead and schedule my interview?

The letter simply says that the Consulate will contact me when they are ready to process my petition, but on the forum I saw a couple of members suggesting to go ahead and schedule the interview.

Please clarify this for me. I dont want to waste time, if now it's on me to take action. Thank you!
