Puede viajar a cualquier parte de los EE. UU. No está seguro de por qué piensa lo contrario.

It's not the place where I said I'm going to live in the application, but there will be my fiancee, it's her graduation.

You can travel anywhere in the USA, including Hawaii and Alaska. Just don't leave the country.

when arrival in US at POE u must travel to the her home address listed on your packet

The customs inspector will ask you where you are going and you must tell him her home address as she listed on the original application

arfter your arrival ,   she or family can pick you up and take you to the graduation

¿Vas a vivir en la graduación?

Graduation is in California, I am going to live in Virginia.

Now I'm worried I wanted to be there seriously, that moment is special for both of us.

I thought that I should not travel to another state, we are trying to get a formal invitation to the graduation to show it in POE and explain why I am there.

What if my fiancee's address has changed (different state) since we filed the original petition? Does the POE have to be the original city then?

In your scenario:

1- POE before in current state where u fiance live and go together to her graduation in CA!

2- Do POE in CA and bring proof that ur fiance is really living in the address u filled in the petition(or u intent to live there), (U can show your ticket returning to that state after graduation, formal invitation ) The officer could not ask but better have the reasons why... if they ask! just for be sure....

Good luck!

PS: i have read in other posts that is not a big deal(you know sometimes there are not direct flights or bla bla), but if i would be  u and decide do POE in CA just i would show u intent to live with ur fiance in the address u file(is the officer asks)....

She currently lives on the campus of the university where she studies located in Californa, but we are going to live in Virgnia, her home state and where my in-laws live.
