Last name on I-130 for petitioner

Hello all!

 

Just recently I've had my petition sent to Chicago and just realized I put my Married name as my legal last name but have never changed it officially with social security...do you think this is going to create issues? 

 

Ps Still put my maiden name as "all other names used"

Non issue.  I am the petitioner.  We filed AOS with my married name.  My passport and DL still shows my maiden name.  I did change it with social security though.  I would complete that soonish.

That's fine. My 10-year GC was in my married name and I only changed my name on the SSN after I naturalized, until then my SSN was still in my maiden name.

Your marriage certificate is your proof of name change (even if it does not explicitly state your married name, mine doesn't).

My foreign passport still states my maiden name (can't even change it without registering my marriage in Hungary and I'm not going to D.C. to do that, I have to wait for a "Consulate outreach" in my area.)

For petitioner this is a non-issue.

would you use your husband last name in US? if you keep using your maiden name, you had to put your maiden name there i think. 

 

i also didn't change my last name in my country but i put my husband last name and my maiden name as my middle name when we filed i130. our marriage certificate in the US matchs the name so i think it could be a proof.  also i put my husband last name with ( ) for my passport. 

 

might be defferent with your case case but hope this helps a bit.

You have your marriage certificate showing both maiden and married names so it's not a problem.
