Choose yourself as an agent that's what I did. AOS  fee $120 IV fee $365.

So did you pay both fees right after choosing the agent? I only I have access to pay the AOS fee which I haven't paid because it says to wait for the nvc receipt. So will these $485 be the only fees to pay for the whole thing.

I paid it when the site allowed me to access the fee for AoS with out the NVC receipt. When my payment is on process and I can access the iv fee I paid it also. I'm gathering all my requirements to be forwarded to NVC. $485 yes and the rest will be on your home country the medical and the $165 For the GC. So far that's the expense that I knew.

Seems like the NOA2s arrive based on a criteria we are not aware of; maybe it's country based, maybe the IR-type (spouse, child, parents, etc.), who knows. We have also been waiting for 4 months from Nebraska Service Center and we were told it would take around 5 months. However, last year mine as an IR-1 took 6 months also from Nebraska and we were told it could take 6-8 months. All we can do is wait, they will eventually arrive. Congratulations on everybody who received their NOA2s earlier than expected. And for all of you who are still waiting, my advice is to not worry, it will arrive.

Last year, I was so stressed while going through my process, I did not want it to delay too long. Now I look back and realize there was no need to stress out; even though it was a long wait everything arrived properly, were able to complete all the steps, pay the fees, send the documents, plan the trip to the U.S. Embassy in my country, my visa was approved, it arrived to my hometown a few days after, I was able to return to the U.S. to join my husband and even received a nice job offer shortly after my arrival. All the chips fell in place properly; we just don't see it until the end of the journey.

We appreciate everyone's updates.

Good words of encouragement RRR2016.  You are right.  We stress out over a few months for something that has to take its due course.  I have been waiting a little over 4 months now (I'm an October I-130 IR-5 filer for both of my parents) and I do feel somewhat anxious only because I keep seeing other filers for late November ( they filed a month after me) and they already got approved.  I just don't feel that it is fair how others get the express process treatment and we seem to get put to the side.

IV fee status updated to "Paid". Hopefully I'll be able to access the DS-260 soon. Planning to complete it over the long weekend.

where you able to access ds260?  how long did the payment process take to change from "in process to paid"?

I have an October file for my dad also and i haven't heard anything yet, I think the files are seen based on the home country.

It went from in process on 02/16 in the morning  to paid on 02/17 when I checked after work,  so 24 hours. I completed the DS-260 later in the night on the 17th.

Yes I definitely agree.  The Philippines based petitions fly through the system very fast while Latin American based petitions get purposely delayed.

Hi Kabayan ?, I also got the NVC welcome packet and now have access to payments. I asked this question on a separate thread but haven't got any answer thus far. ?

How do you forward the requirements from your parents to NVC? I mean do they have to mail you the photocopies or can they just scan and email them to you then you print them out and mail to NVC?

They updated the Nebraska timelines online. It's still 5 month. They processed forms from the 2nd of August at December 31st. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do

The welcome letter states just copied be sent to them so I would say them emailing them to you would be alright for you to make the packet. Once the person has their interview, ther Will have to take the originals. or am I wrong in stating this? Someone else knows about this?

I had my mom scan and email her documents to me,  which I'll submit to NVC. I will be sending copies and the original of my documents (birth certificate,  naturalization certificate,  etc)  for her to take to the interview,  as they will require them at the embassy.

That's what I thought also.. they'll require the originals the day of the interview when that day comes.. whenever that is.:/

Hi - I am new to here and I love that this thread is so active. I am filing for my parents. Just want to confirm the steps:

1 - Send in I130 together with fee of $535 per person and wait for petition approval (how does approval come?)

2 - Upon approval pay $235 per person online and await receipt

3 - When receipt is sent to email complete and send the DS-260 via the portal (how does approval come?)

4 - Wait for approval and then file will be transferred to local Visa office for medicals and interview

Thank you!

WERE YOU ABLE TO COMPLETE DS260 AHEAD OF TIME BEFORE GETTING THE PAYMENT RECEIPT?

IM NOT ABLE TO HAVE THE LINK AT ALL, I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY? IT EVEN IT SAYS YOU CAN SEMI COMPLETE IT BUT WHY CANT I OR AM I LOOKING IN THE WRONG PLACE?
