So I am putting together my I-129F for my fiance, and here are my evidences of ongoing relationship/having met in person:

1. Passport

2. Passport stamps

3. Boarding passes of airplanes and boats together

4. Hotel receipts

5. Pictures together and with family/friends

6. Skype video call logs

7. Facebook chat logs

8. Screenshot of skype/ym/facebook video calls

my question is about my facebook chat logs, me and my fiance are both born Filipino, so we both talk to each other in our Filipino dialect. And I am planning to include our chat logs for our evidence. So do I need to have it translated to English? And does that person need to be a certified translator? and where can we find one?

Can we not include the facebook chat logs then if we can't have it translated and if we cannot use that if it is in our dialect? Can the other above mentioned evidence enough?

Hi, I think you have no reasons to get worried about putting the dialogues in your native dialect, cause me and my fiancee both are brazilians and speak portuguese almost all the time and thats how I putted the facebook chat logs, just be sure to put some things in english too! Thats what I made, And everything was okay, we were approved last week!!!! Yay, good luck!

thank you. I was just reading the RFE section of the forum in K1 visa, one of which is that USCIS said to have everything translated to English if it's in the native language. I guess it all depends on who handles your paper.

Maybe i'll just submit it. I plan just to include those conversations that has sweet exchanges of words.

Congratulations to your journey.

I think your proofs are enough.

thank you.

You don't need a lot of evidence to satisfy the CO. What you listed is plenty. You can leave out the Facebook chat logs. They don't want a 3" notebook with your life outlined. Just use a little from different sources. Many have found that the pictures tell a lot about a relationship. I recommend that you submit 12-18 pictures showing the two of you together with family, friends and touristy stuff. I printed the pictures on a laser printer 4 to a page and that was easy and it worked for us. The interview will be no longer than 5 min if you have everything in order. Follow the embassy letter, gather those documents, and you will have no problems with your interview. I find that your usually approved even before speak to the CO. If they have questions about your documentation that they have already received, then they will spend more time with you. Otherwise, in and out. You will be the longer for the wait then for the actual interview.

Remember to relax, answer the question short and to the point and DON'T wonder into a big explanation. That can only harm you. Be confident and look the CO in the eyes and ALWAYS be truthful with your answers. It's better to say "I don't know" then to say something that can or cannot be truthful.

If it will help Hank and I have guides that will outline the do's and don'ts of the K1 process. Look for them below in my signature at the twisting arrow and also same place for Hank's guide.

thank you.. I will do that instead. Leave the facebook chat logs, or maybe have my fiance bring some of it to the interview if ever CO will ask for more evidence. Will definitely look into yours and Hank's guide.

The CO won't read through your chat logs. They ain't got time for that! In reality, your embassy is in Manila. I think your approval rating is pretty high.

We printed a few screen prints that showed the number quantity of the chats. If you go to the full site (laptop or desktop), then pull up all your messages and getting your fiance's messages on the main page, you can scroll up, and the page will stop. There will be a message on top saying how many more messages there are to load. Taking a screen print of that shows direct evidence of you two and shows the date and your time for the messages you two sent at that time. For us, that showed that as of March 18th, we had 38,000 messages, May 20th with 50,000 messages and May 30th with 53,000 messages (all numbers estimates because I can't remember the actual numbers).

Then the CO can see proof of the quantity of messages you send - ongoing relationship. Quick and fast for them. My fiance also took about 20 or so screen shots of some of our lovey-dovie messages too (without quantity, but still had date stamps).

im stealing this thread a little since im doing the same hehe.

We have mostly used a chat app called line, it´s like a mix of facebook messenger and skype chat.

problem is that it is no real way to document everything that has been said there to prove it is ongoing.

i can export chat history to a normal text document, but that is about it. but i don´t think they are going to like 300 papers minimum just from that chat lol.

should i use like the last 10 pages only? we try and use skype for calls now since that app is more wellknown but we still use Line for writing. Am i thinking too hard into this or what do you think we should do?

Do some research on your embassy's reviews. There may be some reviews that say what sort of evidence they brought or how difficult/easy the interview went.

See if you can isolate the number of messages you had. Try to see if you can document the first message you had via screen shot. You don't have to prove you are in love. The CO doesn't care what you two chat about, but try to see if you can get creative about how to show your messages span a period of time. Here is another thread that may help you; (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/557200-printing-the-chat-logs-for-evidence/#entry7737356)

Okay awesome thank you, if i export chat history the dates are visible, would it be enough to add like the first chat and then a few pages of the latest?

the embassy is in Stockholm, Sweden so i will read up on that.

I think so. I think dates are a bit more important since that's a great way to show ongoing. I don't think they need everything - just a sample.

Btw, :time:

Hey guys. Don't knock yourself out about the chat logs. They could give a hoot. First of all, they have about 3 min of allotted time to have you walk up, give the oath, ask you a couple of questions and then move on to the next interview. They have a jammed schedule. In a typical 8-hour day, a consular officer may need to interview 150 applicants or more, which allows about 3 minutes per applicant. The application form, if completed thoroughly, contains most of the information needed to adjudicate the visa. Additional documents are examined only if the consular officer needs to obtain further clarification of the applicant’s situation.

If they don't see anything in the paperwork you have submitted and the background and medical that you have completed, their mind is pretty much made up that you are approved. If anything, they will ask to see the pictures to ensure that you two have met. Receipts don't say that it was the two of you together just that he made a trip to the Phil. So, don't waste time putting something together that won't be looked at. Just be sure to have pictures 12-18 with the two of you in poses with family, at family gatherings and with the two of you together. That's it. Done deal. Approved NEXT.

Follow the Embassy Letter and you should not have any problems unless of course there is something that is being hidden in the application process but normally not.

The officer may not review many of the documents that you bring to the interview, or any of the applicant's documents, before reaching a decision as to granting a visa. This is because the interviewing officer elicits the information they need to make a decision largely through the nonimmigrant visa application and the interviewing questions.

Good luck

It does obviously depend on the Consulate, doubt Sweden want very much and PI does not seem to be an issue in this regards.

For London a couple of photos was all they were looking for.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
