Consulate Review: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description

Embassy Review : Well, my interview was yesterday, and it was better and easier than I have ever thought it could be, I was so so so nervous at first, that later I became numb, I just couldnt feel anything anymore, I was prepared for everything, I prayed and I just trusted in God and let it be! If I could give some advice for you who is reading this right now is: Don't be afraid, stay calm, if you are being truthful and honest, you have no reasons to be afraid at all, everything is gonna be alright. So, my interview was scheduled at 9:20 am, I arrived very early like 8 am, there was a huge line, but its not ours, it's for the nonimigrant people, and you keep going you are going to see our line, if you don't find it its super easy, you just have to ask some of the guys with a orange t-shirt, there will be a lot of them, believe me! When you get in into the consulate, alex is going to give you 2 papers for you put like you address, your fiancee's address, both of you guys e-mails, the address where you stayed in Rio, and the number of your RDJ, the another one is the order that your papers should be, after you organize them, hes going to call you to his table where hes going to check if everything is really in order and if its not missing anything, alright, hes gonna tell you to sit down at the first line of chairs, where youll wait you turn to be called again, but that time you will be called in a window, the person is gonna check your docs again and hes going to collect your fingerprint. After that you go back to the chairs and wait until the consul call you, YEA, that time is gonna be the consul, at this point you get paralised, can´t think about anything anymore, and you just think and pay attention about how long the person is staying inside the chamber. I was the last one to be called, I couldnt wait anymore, and finally the consul called me, he was a very very nice and sympathetic black man, he asked me if I prefered speaking in english or portuguese, how did we meet each other, what does my fiancee do in the us? what do my family think about me getting married with an american, then he was quiet and typing like for a long time, and suddenly he just said: ok, your visa was approved! I was like: oh my God, thank you, thank you so much, I cant believe this. He was like: you are welcome, have a nice day, thank you. Then I left very very happy. So people thats it, keep calm and check your documents how many times you need, and dont even think for a minute that you wont be approved, everyone in my day got out of that room with a smile in their faces, that wont be different with you! Thats it That was my experience. Bye
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
