NOA1

Hi, can anyone give me an idea on when I should expect to get my first NOA1 from USCIS? I gave them the G1145 so I thought I would have gotten an email by now, but nothing yet.
Should I be getting this soon? When should I expect this?

How long does it normally take to receive an email? And how long does it take to get a paper from the time that this person signed for it?

It'll likely be soon. Sometimes they do miss the G-1145 notifications (or they get caught in email filters), but the hard copy should come in the mail shortly. Some people had it take 3 weeks for the I-129F NOA1, but I think it's back to around a week or 2 so you're still in that timeframe.

Thank you. Just nervous. Can't wait to get the first NOA1, at least it will let me know that the process is started.. and then I know the NOA2 will take forever.

No problem. If you paid by check, you can also check to see when it is cashed/deposited. Usually the electronic notifications come shortly (within days) after that.

Unfortunately, I paid by money order. Would that cause a delay since I sent a money order vs a check?

It shouldn't. It just makes tracking it harder since you can when a check is cashed via your bank.

Your NOA1 date will probably be the day after they received it, and then the paper NOA1 copy should come within 2 weeks from that day, so anywhere from later this week to next week.

Mine was delivered on the same day as yours, signed by same person and everything. I called this morning and checked that my money order (through Western Union) was cashed on Friday, March 31st. So I'm guessing I should get a text/email in the next couple of days and yours should be similar since it was delivered on the same day. Good luck!

Yeah, I know. I would have done that, but I picked the money order instead. Oh well, at least I know it will be coming soon.

I didn't know that you could call to see if they cashed it. I think I'm going to try that myself. Do you know the number, and would you be able to give me it? I wanna try that myself to see if they cashed mine. But thanks for letting me know! Much appreciated.

Unfortunately, even when you file the g-1145, they might not even notify you via SMS or email. That happened to my fiance and I. Neither of us got any message. We filed ours on the 4th of March, got the Delivery Notice on the 10th, then the hard copy was received only on the 18th. Good luck to you all!

Did you use Western Union? I did a quick Google search last week and found the number 800-999-9660 to check the status. All you need is the receipt # on the bottom slip and the amount. If you used a different service for the money order, just Google the name and check status phone number...if there's the option you should be able to find it that way.

That's so disappointing. Oh well. Just going to be patient I guess. If I don't hear anything in a month, then I will contact them and go from there. It should be soon though. Thanks again.

I used a money order through my bank. I will figure something out, thanks again.
