Good morning all.

We filed the I-751 on 11/20/2015 and received the NOA on 12/8/2015. Based on the activity that I have been seeing recently from others with similar timelines, we should receive the green card fairly soon. We learned this morning that her father in Vietnam is very ill and that she should travel soon to see him. We are aware of the possible consequences if she leaves the US on an expired visa (expires on 11/30/16).

Is there a process to request an emergency visa or extension? From what I can see so far, we can request an emergency Infopass appointment but I am not clear on what is needed for the appointment, the request or the timeline for a decision.

Any guidance would be very much appreciated.

All the best,

Anthony

if your i751 receipt expire you can make an info pass and take your passport with you and ask the USCIS officer to stamp your passport they will be happy to do that , i did that last month.

Thank you kindly for your response. That is exactly what happened! We scheduled the Infopass appointment and explained the situation. They stamped her passport and extended it an additional 3 months with no fee. She indicated there may be some confusion with the airlines but to be sure to travel with all of her documents (marriage certificate, NOA and extension letter) and all should be fine. We were in and out in less than 20 minutes.

The Officer also indicated that the Vermont Center was a little behind and finishing up October 2015 filers. They will begin processing November 2015 filers shortly.

I would say apply for N400 as soon as you are eligible. I have done the same for me. I have applied for N400 as well but still waiting for ROC to be approved.

Hi Steve - I got a 6 month stamp in my passport this week too, they also took my Green Card, and they also said that my case is with an officer and that I should hear within six months.

New Card Is Being Produced

On December 9, 2016, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number EAC, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address

Filed VCS 11/20/15 - Receipt date 1/24/16

Good Luck to all other November 2015 Filers who haven't heard back as yet, I am sure it will be very soon.

Just got an email that my Case Status has been changed to: Card/Document Production. I'm so excited as my NOA is November 10th 2015 so 378 days, better late than an RFE so good news, hopefully for the rest of the November filers will hear something soon. I already started my N-400 process so I wonder if that helped to expedite things
