still waiting for NVC to assign a case # they told me to email them my NOA2, does anyone know how long it usually takes to hear from them???

Did they confirm that your case has arrived at NVC? Not sure why they'd want you to e-mail them your NOA2 unless they didn't receive your case from USCIS.

I'm still waiting for a case number to be assigned as well. When I called earlier this evening, Jim told me that my case is still sitting in the mailroom. :bonk: If I had any doubt before that NVC cares very little how this waiting affects our lives, I certainly don't now. I mean, it's only MY LIFE that is on hold. :( (Please excuse the venting about this. It's been a rough day and I'm feeling short on patience.)

Clicked multi-quote a number of times so I hope I reply properly!

According to the Montreal info there is only one Doc in Montreal for medicals - Medysis. Don't know if this is correct. But here's the link My interview was on a Tuesday so I had to have the medical on a Wednesday. Hubby and I decided to make this whole trip a vacation because of the time spent waiting between medical and interview.

While I was at NVC stage I looked at the costs between flying, train and Greyhound. We ended up flying, at the time of booking there were no frequent flyer seats available on Air Canada for the dates we wanted so we paid for tickets on West Jet. The prices for West Jet and Air Canada were about the same but Air Canada was threatening strikes. I have found that when people quote West Jet prices to show how cheap they are, they tend to quote one way without taxes.

And as for fear of flying - medication.

Oh and I suppose these Canada specific questions should be in the Canada forum. Don't want to put anyone off.

Hmm... That's interesting that Dr Seidens isn't in Montreal anymore...

Just spoke with Mac at the NVC. He informed me that our expedite request was approved today and that both cases have been sent to the Embassy in Santiago! I submitted the expedite request via email Monday evening, then received a reply on Tuesday morning that they had received my expedite request and today it was approved.

The finish line is starting to come into view. Hopefully the Santiago embassy will get our case and contact us to schedule the interview in a few days.

Thanks again to those that provided guidance on the expedite process.

That's AWESOME!! Grats!! kicking.gif I'm still flabbergasted by how fast the embassy in Santiago has been with you! good.gif

[...]

I'm looking at an old Montreal medical PDF that's from the same link that Gad gave above. It listed Dr Seidens under Montreal. But with the new one, it's not listed anymore. And wow, I just went to Dr Seidens website and Montreal is no longer listed anywhere! Looks like Dr Seidens has really left Montreal and there's now only 3 places in Canada to get it done: Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal.

Hey everyone,

I have a question with the DS-230. Is it ok to put YES on question 44 "Were you assisted in completing this application"? If we put yes, that I assisted my wife, will that be a problem? :innocent:

Hey everyone,

I have a question with the DS-230. Is it ok to put YES on question 44 "Were you assisted in completing this application"? If we put yes, that I assisted my wife, will that be a problem? :innocent:

I wouldn't even bother putting you down. This question is referring more to people like lawyers or agencies. I personally wouldn't consider the spouse for the question. But, it wouldn't be a problem if you did.

thanks for the info's regarding IV..im just worried,im already done with my medical & interview last march 6,but they said that i still need to submit the w2 of my husband's co sponsor..i immediately submitted the said papers via 2go,until now i have'nt received my visa yet..how long it takes for the processing?almost 45 days passed already, should i wait for any updates from them or should i call the USEm already, please help me?thanks

You need to ask that question in the Philippines regional thread. This thread is for NVC questions.
