So I have a question, hubby us getting tired of the paperwork and as you know we are yet to receive the IV invoice, we already paid the AOS but was waiting on the IV so that we would only send 1 package, can we just send in both packages without paying the IV invoice and wait for the checklist about non-payment. I don't know what else to do and hubby getting frustrated and saying paperwork is a headache. Due to his busy schedule also he doesn't have that much time available to be doing paperwork due to upcoming deployment.

Any suggestions would be appreciated??? Thanks in advance.

Well, I've never heard of doing it like that, but if you send both packages before paying the IV bill, then you'll most likely get a checklist for the IV payment. And once you pay it, then they should close your case. But I'm worried they might reject your IV package or something (like returning it to you until the bill is paid). I've never seen someone do this before, so I really don't know how it would all unfold to be honest.

Don't you need the Barcode Document Coversheet? I wouldn't send it, I know this can be frustrating, but he needs patients in this process! :innocent:

No, I believe what someone did was pay their bill and then sent off the package before it showed up as "paid" but even that was different cuz at least they were invoiced, paid, and had their cover sheet... by the time their package arrived, the payment showed as paid... thats very different than what you're saying though

Saylin, do you have the URL on hand for the DHL website? I'm still a little unclear on this part of the pre-interview process. I took a look at your timeline, and you booked your DHL after you had your medical. Is there a logistical reason for that, or could I hypothetically go ahead and do it tonight? And can I just get 5 copies of the same American passport photo done to split up between my medical (asks for 3) and interview (should require 2) ... after all my looks don't change much within a week or so.

Here's the CSC site where you sign up: http://usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/ss_country_welcome

There's no logistical reason why I waited until after the medical, it just happened that way. I definitely recommend waiting until after the interview date is assigned and the case has arrived in Montreal. Not sure if this is needed, but I wanted to make sure that Montreal had my case before signing up for DHL (now called Loomis). So, if you want, you can do it tonight, no problem. I have screenshots on my blog with detailed steps of what I did to sign up. Here's the post: http://journeythroughimmigration.blogspot.com/2011/04/dhl-location-chosen-interview.html It might look/be different, but it should be the same concept.

And yup, it can be the same photo. That's exactly what I did. I took the same photo, used a site to crop it, and it printed exactly 5 pictures out on a 4x6 glossy picture paper. Used 3 for my medical and 2 for the interview :)

Yeah it's different from when you did it, but still pretty straight forward. There's no nice gentleman now to guide you along, you just click the tiny "log in" link up top, and then when you put in your passport info, etc you click "create an account" and go from there. Anyway, I'm all signed up. I also have my trip out to Montreal all booked. Going with my mom :) Flying in on the 8th, taking the train back on the 10th. Much shopping and poutine on the to-do list. Merci!

Hi,

Our petition has been approved by the USCIS on April 5th. According to the current trends when do you guys think we can expect a case number at the NVC?

And, has anybody around that period received his/her case number yet?

Thanks for any input and have a good day y'all.
